Rayquaza is easily my most raided Pokémon by a mile. I don’t actively go out and raid often, but when Rayquaza is out the odds never gave me a shiny. That all changed this Sunday at Global Go Fest. Not only did I finally get my shiny, but it also had perfect IVs. Of course I immediately leveled it up to just shy of max (waiting for that level up tax for the full 50), gave it the second move, and mega evolved it.

congrats – this is a great example of saving resources (dust and candy) until you’re absolutely sure/ready. you were hunting the shiny, and i’m stoked for you that you got the 2191!

Just lucky traded with someone – he gave me a Kyo Vegas catch card and I gave him a shiny Ray. He’s the Leader of our loca Slack channel and is always grinding. He got the SHLUNDO – his first 100 as well

I only caught 7 of them and of those 7 two were shiny. Guess I have super good luck >_>;; Mine aren’t perfect though.

Congrats this is huge!! I raided so many times in person yesterday and didn’t get the shiny; I did 3 last minute remote raids and on literally the last one I could’ve gotten into for the night, shiny 98% im so stoked!
I’ve done 12 myself, spent all my coins on raid passes and still only have the 1 research meteorite. I just want two Megas!!!

I got the shiny at around 15, then I got to the end of the research and had to do 5 more raids… and ended with 3, at least one is 12 15 15, but no 100%. IVs were shit throughout the whole weekend.
And then here I am, having done 40 raids and didn’t get a single shiny, but my SO got 5…. We can trade for it but like, what the heck 🙁

Update. About the raid count, they weren’t all in a day and most of them were free passes or accumulated as bonuses from research over time. Some certainly came from boxes, but they weren’t the goal. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been sitting on 73 of them before running out of free passes yesterday.
This is why I stopped Raiding and put the game down about a year ago when I didn’t get a Shiny Xerneas after over 20 Raids. I felt like a sucker, and now I don’t buy anything from the Store except more Pokémon and Item storage.
Setting aside that SO many game mechanics and events are leveraging FOMO really hard, how can we even rely on the computed average of Shiny rates when Niantic can change anything they want at any time they want?
How many times have there been “mistakes” in Shiny appearances during events?
I don’t trust them, and I never will.
Congrats. I did 47 raids and didn’t get a single shiny, which is mildly annoying considering odds are suppose to be 1/20. Luckily 40 of those raids were in person, so I still got loads of candy XL.
The one bonus to this event was that they increased the catch rate.
Man I wish my town was so active still, I almost can never do a 3 star + Raid cause nobody is joining… It’s frustrating af.
In keeping with tradition I didn’t get a shundo (been playing since day one and still don’t have a shundo of any kind whatsoever), but I was just happy to FINALLY get a shiny at all. I’ve done so many damn Rayquaza raids since he released and have never gotten a shiny one until this weekend.
