For all of you who don’t read the article it’s behind the Xbox 360 by under 1 million units and under the PS2 by almost 5 million

Honestly speaking in terms of how many individual people actually bought the console it’s probably already long passed the 360. Like not to be rude but the 360 on tech durability end was completely atrocious. Like the original release of the Xbox 360 had an overall failure rate of 54.2 percent, and of the units covered by warranty repair, about 41 percent of them broke again(source for anyone interested: https://www.inverse.com/gaming/red-ring-of-death-xbox-360-history). This probably means the Xbox 360 has a lot of double, possibly even triple dippers(I at least personally know a person who had to double dip). Like I’m fully of the opinion that in terms of how many people have actually bought the console the switch has long since passed the Xbox 360.

If you think about it though, the lifespan of the PS2 was about 13 years. The Switch has only been out for 6 years, so that’s pretty amazing it’s done as well as it has.

It’s going to be #1 WW all-time, quite possibly by the end of 2024. It’s 25~26 million behind the PS2, it did 18 million last (fiscal) year, and Tears of the Kingdom hasn’t even had its first Christmas yet, never mind the new Mario game hitting after the movie was a world-wide smash.
