I’m tempted to buy this, just for the unit itself, and sell the Dock and Joy Cons. You think people might spend $150 on everything in the box except the OLED unit itself?? Like get the whole box and everything. Let me know your thoughts

I still have a day 1 switch. I’ve been wanting to replace it with an OLED model, but I’m fearful with the age of the Switch generation, that as soon as I spend the money to buy the OLED, Nintendo is going to announce a whole new console. Preemptive buyers remorse lol.

This looks like they are trying to clear out OLED stock before a new console announcement next year. Xmas/holiday is their biggest sales season. If they announced a new console before then, fewer people would buy OLEDs this year. They must keep it secret until after Christmas. Now they must sell as many OLEDs as they can to average people who aren’t thinking ahead to the next console. This almost looks like they took existing white OLED stock and just recolored it after the fact. Maybe the OLED was made white so they could recolor them as needed 🤔 ok that’s a little too tinfoil-hat-y, but yeah. It’s not surprising at all that they are trying to shovel low-effort OLEDs out before the holiday season, if it’s true that they have shifted most of their production resources to the new console.

The Splatoon OLED was the one that tempted me the most. It’s gorgeous…but even then, I convinced myself to just be happy with my regular white OLED…I don’t really need to buy a Switch for the 3rd time.
Does not look as nice as the other editions such as Splatoon 3, Pokemon, and Zelda though.

Don’t care about colors and skins. You’ll need a next get Switch soon because the Steam Deck is awesome and you can emulate all the switch games with better quality.
