If you don’t believe there an algorithm, send a help ticket being critical about how they don’t ban trainers for cheaters and watch them put you on hard mode. That’s what happened to me.

I had a fun experience with the algorythm back when Gary Oak(? I think it was his) outfit was up for grabs… I played in the UL for a while with a swampert safe swap, melmetal and I forget what the 3rd mon was. On like the 3rd or 4th day, I started getting opponents (2-4 per set) with specificaly RAZOR LEAF venus or torterras in the back. I love the argument of "Maybe that's just the meta for your elo range specificaly" ffs this was around the 2,5k range in UL, the vast majority of all razorlefers I've seen in the UL during the entire lifespan of GBL were in that one day

I’ve hit legend 10 times. There’s definitely an algorithm.
A tip: Don’t shield until the last second, I don’t know why, but this catches people. I rarely get baited doing this. Compared to giving the opponent a few seconds, it’s almost as if they have a couple second gap to see if you’re shielding or not, and are able to choose whether to bait you or not. Among everything else that’s discussed too, this game is legitimately a fucking joke.

Ninantic should be clear about this algorithm – I know that there's one, but they can't just make it secret – the same is valid for social networks – the algorithm should not be hidden from the users

Thank you for the information. I have been able to go to rank 21 on the last couple of seasons through hard work, never beyond. However, just last season, it took me a long time to get to rank 21. It seems I have been hard countered to the team I was using no matter what pokemon I used.
