I’ll give this a shot. Only having played 3, does it even matter if I play 2 before 1? I know the community is divided on 3, so I want to expect

These demos that you can carry over your save are AWESOME.
I hate demos that put you in the middle of the game and when the game launches you need to restart from the beginning

Kinda out of topic, but if anyone has played the first game, should I get it?
It’s on sale right now, and I wonder if I should. My personal criteria to get it is if it’s a unique enough story, as in, it hasn’t been repeated in several other JRPGs I’ve played in the past.
I grew up on the SNES era so I was played most of the good JRPGs there, but I know I missed out on the StarOcean.
I’m okay with grindy gameplay coz I’m expecting that. It’s the story that I really wanna know about. Coz it’s 30+ hours and if it’s a child of destiny hero story, I’d be pretty disappointed.
Sorry for being out of topic, but if anyone can help, I’d appreciate it.
Also, for what it’s worth, if the first one is something has aged, then I’d definitely just skip to this game.
