I just recently started a new playthrough of Mario Odyssey after not playing it since it launched. And you know what? I forgot how friggin bat shit crazy that game is!
I feel like we should have seen Super Mario Wonder coming. If you compare it to the kinds of shit that happens in Odyssey, Super Mario Wonder feels like Odyssey’s 2D sequel. CANT WAIT

I wasn’t excited for this game. I was talking really bad about it when it was announced due to the fact that we got Mario Odyssey, one of the best open world switch games I’ve seen more of it now and I’m very excited despite the fact we went from open world to side scroll again.

And I enjoyed the **New** Super Mario era of 2D Mario. I think people are too harsh on those games. But Mario Wonder is promising to be something extraordinarily special.

Eh, I tried the demo and it’s just New Super Mario Bros with a few more gimmicks. 2D just isn’t ideal for Mario in the modern gaming landscape; they should just stick with the Odyssey formula.

I just wish they didn’t feel the need to “pay homage” to New Super Mario Bros’s terrible hybrid 3D/2D engine. Everything about this game looks amazing except for the ugly engine, it makes it look like some cheap cash grab mobile game.

Ever since then, all the games have been very same-y and bland.
Hot take but I’m sure this one may have some additions but it’ll still boil down to collect x amount of whatever coins per stage and just be a game I want to play once.
Hard pass, which sucks because I really like Mario.

I love this new super mario wonder game without even playing yet but I know I’m gonna love it. Although I wished their was a bit more power ups like the ice flower or something like the turtle shell. Plus I know it’s co-op but I noticed you can’t interact with other players I really loved grabbing a character and throwing them into a pit so my sibling would get mad but other than that I am not disappointed I am really excited for this.
