This happened to me the other day. Had my auto catcher on and I saw my “buddy” and tapped on it. It ran as soon as I tapped on it but had the auto catcher symbol on it and it said Zorua ran away on the top right. I checked my journal and it looked just like your picture.
I regret having my auto catcher on, but hey what can you do.

If you are walking a shiny buddy it would be the Zorua. That’s how I know- my big old shiny Palkia will show up and if I can’t catch it, my journal shows this as what ran away.
