Well at this point I might as well just emulate the games if I want a better experience.

  2. I swear I want DF to come out with a concise review along the lines of “It’s ass.” no further details needed.

Thank god none of this bothers me. They all look fine and similar to each other. Will pick this up when it goes on sale at some point.

That actually makes Switch almost look like the better choice given how the other two versions aren’t much better and they’re all the same resolution.

I know people hate to talk positively about this but I mean call it whatever you want at no point did anyone tell us we were getting more than ports essentially.

The actual content within the bundle is solid. You get a lot of games, all the different regional versions, manuals, animated comics, a masterbook, the soundtrack… in terms of what’s in the collection its solid

Its actually kind of “nice” that the other versions, even PS5 basically run and look the same. Youre getting the same experience on any platform.

I think once this bundle goes on sale it’ll be an awesome deal.

I think ports have gotten so bad lately, like with Mortal Kombat 1, that at this point as long as it runs and looks fine, i will settle for it

I picked this up for the PS5 and I’ve been having a blast. I beat MGS3 and now I’m playing MGS1. I never got to play MGS1 growing up so it’s all fresh for me and it’s awesome. I haven’t had any issues with game play and no bugs or glitches besides maybe the odd audio compression bug.

  8. For me, the big deal breaker is MGS2 running at 30fps, even though the PS2 original from over 20 years ago ran at 60fps. The other problems are bad, but not as bad as halving the frame rate.

  9. If it was all physical on the switch it would be a must-buy for me.

With no content in the cartridge and half the frame rate, this collection is garbage.

I just finished 1 and loved every second. It was exactly like playing on the ps1 but on a huge TV.

For mgs2 I think everyone that is in a PAL region (50hz TVs) actually played the game at 50fps and 30fps on the cutscenes so to say it runs at half the framerate is technically not correct. It was PAL optimised on PS2 though so it didn’t just run in slow motion like some games. It doesn’t bother me when I play it, plus my TV is huge compared to the 28″ CRT I played it on last time.

Mgs3 was always 30fps so I’m not bothered about that.

I do wish they did a better job on the collection but so far I’m happy with it.
