I want mario wonder to win best game direction ngl. I thought it was really cool how the devs were given no deadlines in the initial stages of production. I think practices like that should be commended, especially in today’s industry of crunch!!
Glad to see Pikmin 4 get a couple noms. Though I’m a bit surprised that both TOTK and Mario Wonder get nominated for GOTY. Don’t get me wrong, I quite enjoyed Wonder, but its surprising to see it get chosen over some other major releases this year.
Disney Illusion Island is such an underrated game but a great time. I know it’s fairly simple but the mechanics is so smooth and I felt super enjoyable to play.
Pretty sure the Mario movie is in fact not on Switch. But it is on PS5 and Xbox.
ToTK is Game of the Decade for me, let alone Game of the Year.
I love to see Advance Wars Reboot Camp nominated for something. People sleep on that series, in my opinion it should win. Incredible tactics game
Even if Nintendo doesn’t win GotY between Mario and Zelda they’re taking a lot home, or at least I’d like to think so. Family game, adventure game, heck I think Pikmin’s winning strategy so that’s another one.

Controversial opinion: I don’t like any of the goty nominees except Mario Wonder, but I don’t think it really deserves it either. Pikmin 4 would be my personal pick but I know that’s not really the type of game that gets nominated.

I really hope pikmin 4 wins best strategy game, it is so good and definitely deserves it.
Mario doesn’t deserve GOTY
Couldn’t give one for Geoff Keigley’s advertisements, but TotK should sweep. It won’t, and Baldur’s Gate 3 will win due to the hit it was and the fact TotK will get knocked fir being “BoW 2.0”. I wouldn’t put it past Spider-Man 2 beating TotK for best action game, despite how ridiculous I’d find that, and TotK will win best game direction.
TotK and Hi Fi Rush were this year’s two standouts, for me. I wouldn’t mind Alan Wake 2 or Baldur’s Gate 3 getting recognised, though.
*Pikmin 4 and Wonder are still on my to play list.
I really want Fire Emblem to take best strategy game. The gameplay in that game is just absolutely on point.
Glad to see Engage get nominated for Best Strategy. Even though its story/writing sucks it is my personal GotY for hitting me with perhaps the best gameplay in the entire series. Truly a shame about the writing…

For the record, Wonder and TotK have as many nominations as Microsoft’s Hi-Fi Rush (*by Tango and Bethesda*).
