Looks like a good game. The inventory management and town building aspects look interesting.

Kind of odd that someone I met up with the other day mentioned this game, and it gets shadow dropped today. I’ll probably give it a shot.

I picked this up on steam more than a year ago and have been waiting for it to release. Looking forward to it! I really enjoyed the little amount I played.

this was the on in indie world today that really jumped out. seems like it is full of things I like.

Have played this a ton on Steam as an early access game – surprised to see this had a full release out now (and that version 1.0 just launched today on Steam too).

So I can’t speak to the story-mode aspect of things, but the game itself is a ton of fun. Core gameplay is a bit like Slay The Spire (see enemy intents, armor only lasts one turn) but with an inventory system instead of cards. You default to 3 energy per turn and balance that between attacking with a weapon, blocking with a shield, and activating other items, but you’re also balancing a ton of other items in your inventory like armors, magic stones and the magic items they power, consumable items, and even keeping spaces open to power up arrows.

And there’s a ton of characters that feel different too. The robot in particular is mind-warping because you fire an energy beam that activates your items as it travels through your inventory so you have to arrange pathways with pipes to get your energy beam hitting the right items.

Played this in… _pre_ early access? It was fun, at the time rough around the edges but I’m sure its been cleaned up. Fun interesting system!

I played the free demo, and I found it fun. I just don’t know how much more it can be expanded to make it better. It feels like a phone game. Here’s the demo: [https://thejaspel.itch.io/backpack-hero](https://thejaspel.itch.io/backpack-hero)
