It’s looking really bad. Switch up did a performance review and I just can’t see how they decided to ship the game at all looking the way it does.

It’s an old game for crying out loud Nintendo. Upgrade that hunk of junk already sheesh

  3. EddieBlizario

    It’s not out till tomorrow..
I’m holding a little faith that there will be a day one patch

  4. perark05

Aka Arkham Knight is bricking on it. Could have swapped it for origins

  5. Benji_Nottm

Not too much of a good excuse here…The first game ran respectably on Wii U, and the most powerful Wii U games port over to the Switch fully and with space for some small improvements if the effort is being made.
I was going to buy this too. I won’t be now. Clearly sloppy contemptuous work.

Ports like this feel like such a coin flip on switch. Some are really excellent and it’s a massive credit to developers putting in the work and publishers giving the right time and resources to make a good port possible.

And then you get cases like this, where it’s clearly not ready to ship, and that lack of care means the switch gets taken for granted and we just get a botched port in need of patches.

Outdated, erm alien isolation, call gunslinger, bulletstorm, fatal frame run pretty damn good

  8. Dante2k4

I was pretty curious to see how Arkham Knight would turn out on the Switch… sad to say, about as I expected :/

  9. Levyathon

It’s time we have a console that can run more than like 3 games

Should be an interesting Digital Foundry video if they decide to take a look at these ports.

  11. Some games I just wouldn’t ever get on Switch.
These are some of them xD definitely regret picking up Doom & Saints Row as well.

I mean to each their own of course. But personally I think the Switch shines with the cartoony graphics. Not something that’s trying to look “real”.

  12. MrBigBMinus

I mean they can’t even get those games to work on the Steam Deck (officially), what were they thinking?

  13. True-Tip-2311

To the surprise of absolutely no one.

  14. Tehloneranger44

I don’t know about the 1st 2 games, but was anyone actually expecting the 3rd game to look good?

  15. Dantes25

I had such high hopes for this. Kingdom Hearts and Arkham trilogy are probably two of my all time favorites video game experiences. Both completely choked on switch 🙁

  16. I think they needed more time with AK.

This seems like a case where they just downgraded it and did not ‘built it from scratch’ like DQ11S and Witcher 3.

  17. Killroywashere1981

It didn’t look great, but I wouldn’t say unplayable. I do hope it gets fixed, I would like to play these on the go.

  18. owenturnbull

It’s not unplayable. It’s playable just dips to 15fps in the batmobile

  19. Pokethomas

Who would’ve guessed.. hope we get that new hardware soon.

  20. Not exactly a surprise. The Return to Gotham collection as well as Knight already had framerate problems on more powerful consoles.

  21. Dukemon102

Asylum and City seem to do well though? (It would be actually be shameful if they didn’t)

I hope I can buy those two separately from Knight.

  22. kaminari1

The only game having issues is Arkham Knight. Just like when the game first came out on other platforms. Asylum and City run just fine.

    Title is misleading and clickbait.

  23. radikraze

I played Arkham Origins on Wii U and had fun with it some years ago. So it’s baffling that the trilogy is running like crap on the Switch

  24. The_Legend_of_Xeno

Nobody, and I mean nobody should be playing this. Not even if it were $20 for the collection. It’s just not worth your time. Every one of these games is available for $5 on a half dozen other systems.

  25. PhunkyPhazon

It’s not the entire package, basically Asylum has minor framerate issues, Knight is *terrible* but City is apparantly completely fine and runs like you’d expect.

It’s not a total bust but you have to wonder what the hell happened with Asylum.

  26. AMJuly1998

I mean ya of course it is, I love my Switch but it’s weak af.

Edit: it wouldn’t shock me to find out that WB/Rocksteady didn’t put very much time into optimizing these games for switch either which is probably the main culprit here. It seems this collection was rushed out to stores to try and get holiday sales.

Edit2: I’m wrong af about the power of the Switch, it can play the current day Doom games, Dying Light, Bioshock, and other good looking games so this is 100% on WB/Rocksteady who seem to be in the business of constantly disappointing DC fans.

  27. TheBiggestNose

Didnt most of these games come out on the 360 era?

    >The visual quality of Batman: Arkham Knight on the Nintendo Switch has also faced criticism. Comparisons with versions on more powerful consoles like the PlayStation 5 highlight a noticeable reduction in graphics.

Really??? Are we actually comparing Switch visuals to PS5? Am I going crazy? Was this written by an AI?

  29. “Comparisons with versions on more powerful consoles like the PlayStation 5 highlight a noticeable reduction in graphics.”

Did the author just try to compare Switch graphics with PS5? Of course it will be nowhere close to that. That sentence didn’t even need to be said.
