I don’t care what they aim for. I care what they accomplish. I’ll wait for trailers to start judging, and for the actual movie to judge properly.

This movie will definitely have motion capture. The director tweeted about it more than 13 years ago. Motion capture definitely makes sense. The elf face, the eyes, the skin tone. Plus, he already has an experience directing a movie with mo-cap in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Looks like it’ll be long time until this movie will be released.

Good thing to strive for. Just have to prove you’re actually capable.
Well, he’s saying the right things. Considering that’s all we have to go on for now, maybe I can have some cautious optimism.
Ehh. Should have went for animated Miyazaki, involving Miyazaki if possible
Animated would have been the best choice for this one. A silent live action Link sounds corny and a talking Link sounds even worse.
Somebody said it better than me in r/zelda, but “live action” abd “Miyazaki” are two adjectives you never want to hear together.
If the goal is to emulate Miyazaki, make it freaking animated.
This will be so hard to get right, and his track record ain’t great
