Aesthetically and music wise, they were pretty great. But actual gameplay wise were a*bysmal*. Boost to win was always a meme, but those stages were literally designed that way and ended in usually 40ish seconds
The controls too, but seeing as it’s gonna basically be a Generations expansion, I’d assume it’d have the same physics and such so that I’m not worried about.

Sonic Generations has the **best** 3D level design in the series’ history. I still replay the game from time to time and having it handheld will be insanely addicting.
But Shadow’s levels have me concerned… I hope they at least manage to be close to the OG game and it isn’t in the same tier of bad as Forces.

Can someone explain why there are two Sonic’s? It seems like one is “classic” and the other “modern”, but why are they separate and what is their relationship?

Man, I have been holding out hope for even a fairly low effort Generations port for Switch (or any platforms, really), but then Sega shows up, out of the blue, with this?! Amazing. I’m so excited for this. The Shadow stuff looks like the gameplay is there, but there’s still that hilarious angst to it.

Looks good. Won’t be getting it for Switch but my PS5 but happy it’s coming to the console nonetheless.
Surprised they brought back Black Doom. Thought he would be erased from the Canon but since Generations is all about remaking/remixing the past it only makes since. So far we have Final Rush as a new stage, Westopolis as a new stage, a Biolizard boss battle (even though the 3DS version of Generations also had this boss), and Black Doom. Very curious if we get more stages as well. Maybe a Forces level, another 06 level, another Heroes level since this side story will be going through Shadows history.
