Many people are comparing the situation with Yuzu to [Bleem](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleem!), which set precedent that emulators are not illegal.
Bleem, however, required users to legally own a copy of the original PlayStation disc in order to emulate PS1 games on their PCs.
Yuzu has two major differences from Bleem.
1. Yuzu requires encryption keys ripped from a real Nintendo Switch. The majority of Yuzu users used keys ripped from a Switch that they did not personally own.
2. Yuzu cannot play games directly from a legitimate Nintendo Switch cartridge. The majority of Yuzu users used games ripped from cartridges they did not personally own.
These are the key differences, and they’re also the main focus of Nintendo’s grievances against Yuzu. This situation is different from Bleem, which required and contained no PlayStation encryption keys, and also required legitimate PS1 discs which the emulator used directly.
