Awesome. While I love Color Splash and Origami King, I hope this remake sells and show to Nintendo, that this is the type of Paper Mario gameplay we want going forward.

Pre-orders just started for it. No other significant games started preorders recently besides Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.
Dragon’s Dogma 2, Rise of the Ronin, and Princess Peach Showtime come out next week but started taking preorders months ago so there’s likely much fewer recent sales.
I want Thousand Year Door to do well, but this is really cherrypicking data.

Super Mario RPG is about to do it in just 4 months so it’s definitely possible for TTYD to do it as well, because Origami King has had atrocious legs.

I just started playing the original on my Wii. The game looks fantastic. If it wasn’t for hardware gaps and being able to play on modern displays, I wouldn’t think this game needed a remake.

I dropped the $60 for the Link’s Awakening remake, but I don’t know if I want to do the same here. The Metroid Prime remake ruined me — re-texturing and upscaling is more than enough for me, if it means the game is only $40
