They probably didn´t even model anything, they simply squashed the models they already have, probably using the male body with the female head in top of it trying to make it similar to what they see in the mirror every morning.
Look at the legs and torsos, they are obviously simply out of porportions, which also brought some serious deformities, specially to the knees and shoulders, but also everything else…
That would be a lot easier, they don´t have to create new uvmaps and textures and anything…
Just look at the new hair styles, they don´t een have the skills needed to make them similar to the ones they already had.
This people should never ever being hired by the industry in the first place.
It's not like Niantic messed up before nononono. Niantic probably got an idea, underpaid and set a deadline that was absurd, adding the shit without even checking it, and afterwards they act like nothing's wrong. Whoever made that avatar update crap is not the one to blame, but the person/company who enabled this piece of garbage ingame, and i bet it's Niantic. Niantic is a big company, but you for sure doesn't get that feeling when stuff like this happen every week or month. Sure they had an event planned and this avatar update was a part of it, but dang dont ship it and enable it if it's not good enough, wtf is wrong with you Niantic? A lot, a lot is wrong with Niantic, that's correct.
All they had to do was keep the exact same avatars and make it so you could tweak them a bit, add hair, more/less boob, hip, height, etc. Why was that so hard?

They actually took away the short/female level 50 jacket. They just stretched out the mens jacket and forced that one style on everyone.
I am so bummed I can’t wear the short 50 jacket anymore. 😢
Although I find the avatar update horrible, I am not convinced the layoffs are related with the negative feedback. Maybe their project is simply finished with the implementation.

Niantic should roll back the avatar update. Then fix the character design options in a future update. That way everyone can customize if they want to! Forgot to add glad those horrible artists got fired. They need human anatomy lessons.

This game is at a serious low. We used to have a big pogo group who would meet up all the time. Now its down to maybe 10 people. Over 60 people in our group just straight quit! Lol

I don't know who made the new avatars for pokemon go,but I really hope that person (or people,I don't know how many worked on the update) but I hope that they did get fired,I hope this means we can reverse this and get the old ones back
