I can't help but wonder if its players ghosts that you are facing. The game saves the most recent counters to your team that a last player used then loads and plays as them.
Yeah, I played a couple of days ago and went 0-10. I was not happy about that, and I had a great team for it, too, which would've won, were it not for this insane lag. So I just stopped despite not finishing the go battle research for this season because I'm not going into a 0-25 losing streak again because people want to switch between discord and messenger to cheat mid battle. Or just quitting out the app entirely
God I hate catch cup. It's the worst cup they do
Def see the algorithm and I’ve been saying this but people call me a sore loser, every time I get close to legend I get hard counters all 3 Pokemon I haven’t went 0-5 in months and I have 2 times today shit makes me not even want to play

As a new player, I got to ace rank 2000 ELO then went back down to 1600. Thanks to catch cup. I was able to get back into the 2000s. Lucky I’ve been building my great league Pokédex to have enough of the old school powerhouses.
The algorithm is so bad for me that I have to back out after every battle. Look at the recommendation and pick stuff that counters both directions of the recommendations but it still glitches and lags
I used level 1 Pokémon and I lose every battle for this catch cup I simply don’t care. Hard to face algorithm…

Everything in this game generates around an algorithm, with shiny pokemons it's the same thing, there are some months when I capture several of them, but there are months when the shiny ones simply disappear. It's been 2 weeks since I haven't caught a shiny, it's very frustrating.

I’m staying out of GBL during Catch Cup as it’s not worth the stardust cost. Stardust is the main reason I do GBL and put up with the rampant cheating.
Try Charcadet in little cup, I couldn’t even find it on PVPoke and it’s been great for me

try switching your 2nd and 3rd mon in between battles. lets you keep the same team line up but seems like it might reset the algo

For me, my game is not lagging, and in the past, maybe I’ve experienced an “algorithm”, but for this season, it’s all going well. Just bring two counters to your first pokemon so that you can always cover weaknesses

this is so damn relatable.. what id like to see from any algorithm deniers, is videos of the "top" players encountering these hardcounters and winning the battles. cos either the majority of them either dont get the hardcounters or they're the cheats that see your team/lag you out.
I'm wanting to file a lawsuit over the algorithm, it's literally forcing win/loss rate when it's supposed yo be random matches, people spend money on battle passes and it's rigged

If they HAVE to have the stupid ass catch cup they should at least put a more normal mode in next to it so we’re not forced to play it. But no, instead we just get two catch cups lmao. Also catch cup should be implemented differently in a way that makes it more inviting.
1. Secondary moves should be banned. Should only be allowed one charged move on each pokemon.
2. Should only be pokemon you caught that day or MAYBE that week. Then it’s an ACTUAL catch cup as in you have to actually go out and catch a team and work with whatever you get. Instead, they made it where you can use mons you caught like 2 months ago 😭 it’s not even a “catch cup” atp.
The game is unplayable with the lag + algorithm.
I agree this cup is stupid…make us power up pokemon that we already have, if not doing that we will lose….Just add GL or UL or ML during this cup, but niantic did not doing that
Quit a few months back and have been a lot happier. Niantic is a shit-show.
Ontop of the suspisious sudden lag at critical seconds and matchup algorithm, i have for a long time seen the exact bs, fixed enemy lead + followup counter if you switch regardless how many times you rotate your leads once your brain picks up the leads cant just be coincidence. Ive noticed sometimes when i do switch around teams and look for a battle, once the match loads my pokemon team is the previous match and sometimes before the first attack hits i get a match error. I joke to myself the algorithms struggling to keep up at times and once it detects my new lead and if enemy is in my favour it forces an error, never happened when enemy had the advantage.
ANYBODY who believes they have "sKiLl" in an algorithm and bot filled game clearly has some mental issues.

The algorithm is real and base on the elo / win rate（overall) / win rate (last 5 sets). However the key points of elo rising is how to handle the hard counter situation. I

It seems the algorithm is at least limited by the player pool, but using off the wall teams and the game finding the most ridiculous team to hard counter no one would ever use is kinda funny when it happens occasionally, nice sonic music by the way. The frame skips have been terrible for me lately too, losing by missing out on charged moves that should have triggered is not fun

From what I observed, a match is nearly unwinnable only if you get countered in the lead, swap, and back OR if your remaining Pokémon get hard countered in the back—provided that the opponent plays decently ofc. Good thing this doesn’t happen to me very often…so far.
