Man Metroid Prime Remastered is so much better. So many other games are too…

In terms of eye candy, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is definitely the prettiest game on Switch. It looks like a Pixar movie moving in real time.

In terms of having amazing visuals **and** having great performance I’d give it to Metroid Prime Remastered (Prime 4 looks even better in certain aspects).

In terms of technical achievement, Tears of the Kingdom is pure wizardly. Link being able to raise and drop from the sky without loading screens, the interactions with the Ultra Hand and all the stuff that is possible. But in terms of visuals and performance it’s not up to par with the previous two.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 looks almost like a movie.

It looks great but too bad it was a ton of filler stretched out to make the game be twice as long as it should have been.

The animation in Luigi’s Mansion is just wild. Next Level Games are god tier.

I will say, I hope they shake up the Luigi’s Mansion formula a bit for the next entry. LM3 was great but the series has such bloated tutorial-intros it makes it hard for replays, and the actual ghost-sucking ‘combat’ leaves a bit to be desired.

Someone spelled “The Witcher 3” wrong.

I would put Pikmin 4 up there as well. It just looks soooo good.

Personally mine is still XC3– the final battle has so many effects and seamless cutscene transitions and it still ran very solidly

Not to mention it has one of the most beautiful and massive open worlds I’ve ever seen

Next Level Games has the best character animation I can think of. Of course Luigi looks the best but even the basic grunt ghosts are super expressive and cartoony

Tears of the Kingdom and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are my most technically impressive Switch games, but they look too blurry. Hopefully they release a patch or enhanced version for Switch 2, so they can improve the resolution or maybe even make them 60fps.

I completely agree. I haven’t seen a game surpass Luigi’s mansion 3 visually in my eyes. It helps it’s a smaller sized game with narrow corridors. Every inch gets that special love and attention

I’d probably pick MK8D or maybe Smash Ultimate personally, but it’s tough to argue with how miraculous Luigi’s Mansion 3 is. Unfortunately I lost my LM3 cart 😔 I need to rebuy it so I can experience it on the OLED.

No Mario & Rabbids? That game looked REALLY nice.

Goddamn for a second I thought a new Luigi’s mansion was in the works. 🙁 can’t get enough of those games

I’m literally about to finish my second play-through of Luigi‘s Mansion 3. And I can wholeheartedly say it’s the best looking game on Switch. Next Level Games made it look far better than anyone could’ve imagined. Pixar-like animation and it still holds up well 5 years later.

I can’t believe we haven’t got a Luigi’s Mansion 1 remake or remaster for the Switch.

Even on the GCN I remember being blown away by the cloth physics and stuff it pulled off. They’ve always been able to push Luigi’s Mansion for some reason, wonder if it’s the way it’s set in the mansion vs. needing to do the whole grass world, lava world, etc thing.

I honestly think Fire Emblem Engage might be the best looking Switch game in terms of just eye candy. Like seriously I have seen nothing better in those terms.

  19. Anotherspelunker

Thought it would go to Metroid Prime Remastered. Both are technically splendid though

  20. redditdude68

It is a great looking game, but shouldn’t the answer always be Tears of the Kingdom? There was (dumb) speculation it was a Switch Pro game before it came out.

New Pokemon Snap is so full of liiiiiiife

  22. LysanderBelmont

Is Luigi’s Mansion 2 comparable? I am thinking of getting it because 3 looked and played so amazing

  23. gman5852

Kinda a weird choice given they literally wrote an article speculating that TotK trailers weren’t on Switch hardware. If you’re so impressive you’re successfully tricking the tech writers, that’s probably a clear sign you won.

It’s actually crazy how detailed Luigi’s Mansion 3 is. It isn’t big or flashy but there’s so many little things happening at once that support the package. Next Level Games is so fantastic when it comes to making the Mario characters feel very expressive.

Doesn’t have shit on what VD-dev pulled off more than a decade ago on the NDS.
