Reaching 800k in Ranked Damage Challenge #1 with invested F2P units [Pokemon Masters EX]

I didn’t aim for 1M because you can already get the 200th training ticket from the base rewards by 800k, with the remaining rewards being Co-op Sync Orbs. While those are good to have, finding three F2P teams to reach 1M is quite difficult without putting in premium investments, so I just settled for 800k since the Training Tickets are the more important rewards to work toward.

These clears all used 3-star on-type gear, and none of the units had lucky skills locked behind deluxe lucky cookies. However, I did use limited-time units and unlocks, which I’ll detail below.

Here’s how each battle went and the sync grids used:

Best boy’s stage is not friendy at all to the para strat as it weakens sync moves. While there is merit to still doing para spam to stack syncs when using certain units (NC Nate), for most other units you’ll have to rely on regular moves to get as much damage as you can.

I went with Cyrus, and I did use his power boosted grid here for the additional stats and multiplier. I tried without it and I barely got 100k, and while that would’ve been enough for this particular run, I do think the expansion helped a lot in bumping up damage. Lodge Cheren provided Sp Def debuffs and flinches, while SS Elesa provided the support EX buff and sync acceleration.

The EX on Lodge Cheren isn’t needed, but the one on SS Elesa is.

Another option I tried out is Zinnia, who has her power boost event rerunning right now so she’s a lot more accessible. I tried SS Elesa / Zinnia / Winona and got around 120k, so if you don’t have power boosted Cyrus you could try that team instead.

EXed Koga for this, and I do think it’s needed to get these points – my best run with non-EX Koga was around 285k. If you have premium investments like skill gears the EX might not be needed, but if you don’t then this might be better.

I went for Mind Games instead of the Sp Atk tiles as I found the -1 Sp Def more impactful to the sync then the +30 Sp Atk. Don’t know if it was just the damage ranges though.

I tried Bea and I barely got 200k, so I just went with Riley since I really don’t think any other F2P Fighting-type could stand a chance, especially with regular moves nerfed in this stage. This is very much dependent on Hilbert dodging enough moves for Riley to get all those syncs in.

The EX on Colress isn’t needed, but the one on Hilbert is.

If you don’t have Riley, Bea would be your best shot in the F2P pool, but keep in mind that you might need to bump up the points in the other stages if you need to use her.
