Why not have team preview before the match starts? That could help with the algorithm a bit
It's brutally simple.
Overcome lag by fewer inputs/second, and more various timings to prevent awkward tiebreakers. Consider increasing move-counts.. Make it more similar to core game.

NOP iOS is super buggy, no only in PVP … it breaks basically every feature. — And I think the algorithm thing is… like is not working and is bugged… how can we expect it to be working fine and fair when see other features not working at all. There is not a single feature in the game that is free for failing.
I just recently had a battle were I had a bad lead switch in venusaur, they switch in lunatone!!! I was thinking why the hell they do that? Maybe lunatone has confusion nope it had rock throw, so bout 4 rock throw in lunatone had a new move animation like someone unlocked a new charge attack. Then it started using confusion.

I just don’t care for PVP… only reason I would bother with it is solely for the purpose of getting the stones and yet with two hundos that need those stones I still don’t want to play it.

Suspending battles is a pretty good idea aside from the level 44 requirements to win 30 Master, Ultra, and Great league battles
I don’t understand how this game makes billions and the pvp runs like hotdog water. And it’s sad because the players actually love the game and make amazing content and you’d think that the developers would want to fix things to provide a better player experience. Props to you for grinding and pumping out bangers cuz it’s so frustrating.

GBL is tedious at best. I still do it each season to get to Rank 20 for the items and try to do the timed research for the xl candy. Even then I find it hard to motivate myself though. GBL kinda sucks.
It happened to me today.
My highest streak of wins stands at 10 in GBL;
Yesterday, my last set was a crushing 0/5. Switched pokemon left and right, and nothing seemed to be working;
Started today, and my 2 first sets were 5/5 each! I tied my highest streak set so much time ago. With frameskips and all;
Okay… let's go to my 11th battle: got a good lead against a dragonite, switch to an okay battle of my DM necrozma x xerneas and it started lagging. Like no other battle lagged before.
The Result? Lost the battle when i had potential to beat my streak.

The way your described doing everything right in a really close, competitive game, only to have a frame drop or skip happen at the last second is so dead on. That has been happening to me more this season than ever before. It really does take all the fun out of it and make playing the game feel pointless. At least 3 days a week I stop doing batles for the day after the 3rd or 4th time it happens.

About the algorithm: Yes there is an Elo-like matchmaking algorithm in play and sometimes it is suspiciously coincidental that you get a hard-counter matchup right after you won a few battles in a row BUT as with every Elo-like matchmaking algorithm if you were more than a few standard deviations away from 50% win rate it would mean the Elo system is broken. Alternatively it would mean you are the best player by a huge margin.
I tank about 2/3 of the season and start to climb in the last 1/3. I made a run from 1669 to 2551 Elo in 4 days with a 87.5% win rate. How is that possible with the before mentioned Elo system? Very simple I was artificially at a lower Elo and am now at my true Elo. I can't just climb like this to Legend because I am just not skilled enough for it. My overall win rate for this season is barely over 51% so this checks out.
I am not saying I know everything or whatever but this is how these matchmaking systems work normally. If it is a good way I don't think I am in a position to judge but it definitely works as intended.
although i agree about the frame drop the algorithm existence is literally so funny.These people who actually belive it exists are clowns.There is literally no proof it exists except they are doing bad on their sets😂.I respect poke ak and i like his vids but i think when bullshit is told it should be called out.If there is any proof of the algorithm then go out and talk about it but if there isn't don't do it

They don't need to shut down pvp for any amount of time. If they really wanted to fix it – they could be building pvp v2 from scratch in parallel. They can take whatever time they need – a month, a year etc. Once it's done – add a new button to PokeBall menu called pvp v2 beta and allow us to play unranked matches for some rewards. Gather feedback from select people – those who went back to old system and those who only played new one, ones who played 100matches or whatever. Polish everything according to feedback. Remove old pvp button, replace with new one. No downtime and perfect new system. It's unthinkable that they don't already do it this way. Instead of that they invent routes and f-up avatars..

Lost 3 games yesterday thanks to frame drops. That 1 turn lag allowed them to hit charge moves before me when mine was ready a turn earlier. This season is the worst GBL has been in recent times.
Sometime really odd happened to me recently. After Go Fest global I got a hundo Necrozma, maxed it out and built a new team around it. I was doing insanely well. Like I went 25/25 the next day. Then a few days later still using the same team, same techniques and I started getting destroyed. I think I lost 15 in a row. It could just be me sucking out of the blue but idk. It felt kinda off.
