I’m a bit torn… I LOVE the Mystical Ninja games and preordered this game from the japanese eShop as soon as I was able to. I generally liked the game, but after a while it just… get’s boring? I stopped playing after world 3 or 4.
The levels are pretty big and explorable, you are supposed to find all 5-ish collectables in each level, but the movement felt kinda slow compared to the size of the map and the game started lagging a lot in wider areas or when many enemies appear.
They are adding new attacks and enemies to the western release, I hope they also polished the game a bit more in other areas, like fixing the performance issues. I might get it in english and give it another try then.
There is a free demo available, guess I’ll try that after work today!

Freakin’ finally! A shame that they went with a bland translation for the title. “Bakeru: Mameda Bakeru” is a lot less impactful than [Action-Packed Bakeru the Tanuki: The Great Oracle Calamity Festival](https://archive.org/details/otogi-katsugeki-mameda-no-bakeru-oracle-saitarou-no-sainan-english-translation).
