Dang. Five years. Still some of the best art direction and music, and I loved the gameplay. Just an overall amazing experience of a game.
Wasn’t 100% satisfied with the ending but the overall experience vastly outweighed that. Hope we get a sequel or spinoff.

Really hope Nintendo greenlights a sequel, Astral Chain is one of my favourite games on Switch. The combat is obviously excellent (that’s Platinum’s specialty), but the setting, the art, the vibes are all fantastic too. I even like the city / detective sections, contrary to most people.

I can’t even buy this game boxed (don’t wanna buy games digitally). So I passed. How come Nintendo doesn’t restock? Aren’t they in the business of selling games?

Astral Chain would work really well as a Final Fantasy game. The Legions were basically Summons. Give it a more fantastical setting, throw in some magic, and you’ve got yourself a Final Fantasy game with a great new combat system.

And this game BANGS and has one of the coolest combat systems. Kills me that it’s stuck on the switch.

Man COVID has really fucked with our perception time. The fact that it’s been five whole years since Fire Emblem Three Houses and Astral Chain released is insane.

I need to get around to trying it again, I played about an hour and a half of it when it crashed and I couldn’t bring myself to start over lol

Man, with Kamiya gone now, there is so much stuff I was hoping Platinum would get around too that now I’m not sure if it will have a chance to happen (and if it did happen, if it would be as good)
