Usually you have to beat the game to unlock this unless it’s a remake. But we have had 20 zelda games to get good at so it’s about time

Glad this is in, but why did they forget about master mode/hero mode in TOTK? 😓

It makes sense. Zelda relates games have had Hero mode for decades

Edit: Apparently only a decade. But I meant, in general, there was a harder mode even in the original NES game. But yes, the actual “Hero Mode” has only existed since 2011 with SS.

I just hope the framerate is stable. I love Links Awakening but they never fixed the choppy framerate, it’s very noticeable.

Are they gonna release all the zelda amiibo when this thing drops?

in Nintendo terms baby mode and easy then.

splatoon two octo expansion is somehow the hardest Nintendo epd game on switch still

So in hero mode, Zelda is gonna be chugging smoothies all game? Somehow the image of her doing that is even funnier than Link ripping through a full course meal against a Lynel.

Zelda: No biggie! **Copies hearts on the HUD to replenish hearts**

  9. Hearts won’t drop? What does that mean? (I’m spanish).

Honestly I’m not a huge fan of hero mode. No hearts dropping is just tedious, and reduces the usefulness of grass, pots, etc. 2x damage is fine.

more importantly, will having one heart or less create THE WORST SOUND IN THE WORLD

  12. SomewhatProvoking

That’s so funny. It seems like a silly cozy game

I’ll never understand why people like hard games. lol

First play though I’ll probably do the intended difficulty 2nd play through hero mode. Only reason I haven’t gone back to totk yet was because no master mode.

  15. Standing__Menacingly

In the modern gaming landscape, this type of difficulty is uninspired and completely unremarkable.

Since you can play the shrines in any order, if one is difficult, you can leave, do easier ones, get hearts and then come back. The difficulty in the overworld scales as you complete temples, so as you play the game more you should be getting better at combat, so the game adjusts enemies accordingly. But the shrine enemies are fixed so completing more shrines will let you upgrade health and stamina and hopefully make the challenge easier

I played Links Awakening on Hero on my first playthrough and it made for a good experience. I hope this will be the same.

  18. God damn finally. I’ve been saying for years that I just wish Zelda (and games in general) all had these mode options from the get-go. I love Zelda but they just haven’t felt hard for a long time.

Not a huge fan of this style of difficulty increase. I tried it on Link’s Awakening, and it sucked a lot of the fun out of my playthrough. I eventually restarted my playthrough.

Omg wow this is definitely got me hyped /s
