Oh that’s not actually a bad price, all things considered.
Oaktree7200
Their SNES is pretty good, I’m sure this will be too; the problem is always the price and availability, though.
C-Towner
I hope there is an audience for this, because I find it hard to imagine that there are a significant amount of people wanting to pay $250 (without a controller) for a N64 upscaling machine.
Wig_Girl
I honestly think that what Analogue does though not personally for me is actually pretty important. these consoles won’t be around forever and having something that can perseve the original intended way these games were meant to be played is valuable
shust89
I loved N64 but there are a very few games I want to play on it these days.
Comprehensive-Ad2670
I am more interested in this new controller. Can someone provide more information?
supermariobruhh
I remember this (at least I think it was this device) being announced and it was hundreds more. For $249 I can absolutely see a market and would likely get one myself.
Tronman100
I’m more interested in the 8bitdo N64 Controller. Been waiting on that thing since they teased it with the Analog 3D!
It’s now on 8bitdo’s website! Preorders Oct 21st, Yay!
Gromby
For what you get, this isnt a bad price (although I do wish they would include the controller). I collect N64 games, play them pretty often on original hardware and this will make it easier to play them on modern tv’s and such with 4k support.
GunnarsBatThrows
I would buy this.
NDeceptikonn
Playing DK64, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, Conker, etc in 4K is a dream come true! Take my money!
Further-Reich
Does it support PAL games?

I wonder how much it’ll cost to ship to the UK. My N64 still gets a fair bit of play and I have games for both UK and US consoles, so a region-free player would be very useful. It’ll probably sell out long before I can get one, but if it works as described and the shipping isn’t too appalling, it’ll definitely be on my radar.
LimeeSdaa
How does this relate to your TV’s input lag?
For example, let’s say I plug this in via HDMI to my shitty Roku.
Am I still going to experience input lag due to the TV’s limitations? Or will the CRT mode of the console somehow negate that?
Another_Road
Ok well I hope I can buy that but I fully expect it to sell out in 1 minute and then be re-listed on eBay for $600-$700
nebber3
I’d really like to see what games look like on this thing. Something tells me preorders will be sold out before that happens… Just have to trust that it’ll be worth the $250 I suppose.
DarthFJ
Do you think it can support Controllers like the Switch Pro Controller?
GLTheGameMaster
is there potential for emulation issues or is it like everdrive? Will be it able to run romhacks?
looks really sweet, I might snag one just for convenience of being able to bring it wherever/hook it up to tvs. I wonder if this will be its only release or will there be more waves?
nichijouuuu
How does Analogue business operate? I know they have the Pocket, and emulation is legal, so is it simply that they sell a product on the grounds that you are the owner of a game and have self-digitally ripped the iso/etc. manually?
Nintendo_Thumb
That’s cool and all, but I think I’ll just use my computer, or Nintendo online, or any number of portable and home retro pi’s, etc. Might not be perfect, but I just can’t tell the difference.
OkamiTakahashi
As someone who no longer has their N64 BUT somehow managed to hold onto their game library, I’m in.
BoySmooches
I want one but I want to watch a review before buying. That’s my gripe with the limited runs.
regulator227
Hmm the picture of the thps cartridge is grey instead of blue. Weird.
ZenDragon
So this isn’t actually rendering polygons at a higher resolution right? Am I correct in understanding that the upscaling is just a post-process?
GoblinTradingGuide
I don’t get why the article says that the N64 is notoriously difficult to emulate. My phone emulates it just fine.
AustinJG
They really need to start reprinting earlier models. I’d love to get an SNES from them but they stopped making them.
sbua310
Fuck. I love Nintendo
GLTheGameMaster
While some have great rereleases/better ports or emulations, some are still timeless and perfect on the console; although the library isn’t massive, some greatest of all times are still readily available and would be nice to have on a simple plug and play 4k. Starfox 64, SM64, FZero, Smash 64/MK64 have their own unique charm/differences from other entries, Paper Mario 64 still GOATed, Battletanks, Banjo Tooie (my fav of the two controversially), Bomberman 64s, DK64, Diddy Kong Racing 64, Yoshi’s Story, etc etc almost all of these are still playable for the first time today and still excellent
While a lot of these are/will be playable on Switch, there’s something to be said about playing unemulated with OG controllers for the real feel/no loss of shaders and such. It also covers all regions which is super sick for the price + 4k, and for game preservation in general it’s a W
SickAgainBanduk2017
Anyone think an Everdrive x7 would NOT work on this? Or pretty safe bet?
duckofdeath87
Does it support open fpga at all?
Edit: nope
ColourfulToad
This would legit get me buying carts again, and I’m actually tempted. It’s a shame online shopping is just fucked forever now due to bots.
SickAgainBanduk2017
Copying this question from another thread because this would turn into a 110% instant buy if they had Funtastic-like colours up right away :
“I want this but I wonder if a year later they will come out with the funtastic colors like they have been doing with the Pocket. A Fire Orange Analogue 3D to match the N64 would be sick.”
Any thoughts? Safe to wait?! 🙂
wehttam19
I see a lot of people mad about it not having a controller.
As someone with the NSO N64 controller will it work with that? Also is the idea that it’ll 4k upscale all games, including original cartridge games or a custom emulator cartridge (if they even exist tbh)
Because if it’s the equivalent of a 4k real N64 I’m here for it.
Far-Transition6453
How many games does it come with
elbubu1
Is this approved by Nintendo or can Nintendo do something to cancel this? I bet their attorneys are already foaming at the mouth lol Nintendo is notoriously shit when it comes to people messing with their IP

Ok *continues to emulate N64
