They asked for Metroid dread but not for Metroid prime 4?….

Now dont get me wrong there’s no way im condoning people going to harass people at their workplace for any reason (especially some as petty as a videogame release) but prime 4 had been in development far longer…..

Now thinking about It, retro didnt developed dread! That was Mercurysteam!!!

Walker: “Oh yeah. Several occasions, we would have people knock on our door who were huge Metroid Prime fans who wanted a tour or who had some questions, wanted to win a bet and so forth. It was fun.”

KT: “Would you let them in?”

Walker: “Usually, they got to the lobby and that was as far as we could take them.”

    ….

I gonna pretend that this is proof that a Metroid area in the Super Nintendo Park would do gangbusters, cause I need that to happen.

There was a video made by DYKG on Dread’s history. Retro confirmed that they had no involvement with what Nintendo was working on with the mainline (2D) series. It was a specific designer that put that joke in there. Dread, meanwhile was two failed attempts to make a Metroid game on the DS. You can watch the video I posted below for more context. Nintendo just happened to have gotten lucky with MS. The studio not only were able to make their own Castlevania games with Konami, but they had a lot of interest in working on the Metroid series. Samus Returns was originally going to be a remake of Fusion, but the lead producer for Metroid wanted Metroid 2 to get remade (since 1 was already).

Dread never entered development up until this final version as Nintendo couldn’t employ enough staff to develop the game. (similar thing happens with the Pikmin IP. 4 was on a backburner for a while)
