But also another reminder that we need a new Wave Race game. I know Mario Kart is the big racing game for Nintendo but I still think there’s room for F-Zero and Wave Race. They’re both very different experiences compared to Mario Kart.

We’ve now had 4/7 post-launch updates with under 40 minutes of music. Wii Sports, Brain Age, F-Zero X and now Wave Race 64. Not bad soundtracks, but so, so short. When DKC2 is one of the longer additions at just 54 minutes, it’s kind of a problem.

On one hand, I’m very glad Nintendo isn’t just doing recent stuff to advertise their new games like I expected when I first heard about this.
On the other hand, who asked for this? I’ve literally never heard of this game before today. There really is zero point for them to dripfeed the music this slow. I have zero problem with them giving random little games like this some attention, but there’s no reason to go this slow at all. Drop two or three a week. It will take over a decade to release all the soundtracks Nintendo has at the current pace.
And unless the majority of people have much different music listening habits than I do, dripfeeding doesn’t even make sense as a profit maker.

im getting so sick of this shit. i didnt mind one soundtrack a week, but christ almighty, theyre choosing the most boring and asinine options. if theyre gonna choose these super small and obscure soundtracks, could they maybe DO MORE THAN ONE A WEEK? its absolutely miserable waiting every week for a soundtrack, only to get an obscure n64 game that has an incredibly small fanbase compared to the shit people *actually fucking want.*
i was hoping for, i dunno, maybe Super Mario 64? one of the most prolific and important video game soundtracks of all time? maybe Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, which has never gotten an official soundtrack release before? maybe Fire Emblem: Three Houses, which is considered one of the best soundtracks on the Switch?
