We honestly live in the worst time line imaginable. That’s it, I wanna live in a different parallel universe. This one officially sucks.

Seeing the name “Free Radical Design” always makes me a bit sad, especially given the still-comparatively-recent debacle that was the Deep Silver/Embracer Free Radical Design revival. Given the original FRD’s work on the *Timesplitters* series and Crysis 2, I think I would have really liked to see their finished take on Battlefront.
For context: FRD was staffed by a lot of former Rare developers, and much like Rare they made some really great games–though FRD emphatically did not make really great money. Their most famous series, *Timesplitters*, is from some of the same developers who worked on Rare’s legendary *GoldenEye: 007* game–i think a few of them also worked on *Perfect Dark*.
I fired up *Future Perfect* for nostalgia reasons pretty recently, and I can confirm that it is still very fun to do a custom match where everyone is dual-wielding flare guns. The characters are just so dumb–as intended–and the game revels in its own campiness. It’s also a pretty big game: there’s just a ton of characters, a story mode with couch co-op, a level editor that is still somehow better than many modern games’, curling, other mini games, and a wildly customizable split screen multiplayer match mode. It’s still an old game that does not feel anything like modern fps, but it’s nice to revisit from time to time.
Thanks for reading my disorganized FRD nostalgia.

I feel like I remember seeing this exact video like 15 years ago when it was already cancelled.

My memory is probably hazy on how games looked back then, but this looks awesome for a Wii game.

Hopefully this is ported to PC eventually.

So who released the time splitters games on Xbox and the PSN versions? Because if EA is still involved, and now this is a massive long shot. Could EA working with Star Wars and free radical get this game released today at all? It’s all a million to one wishful thinking I know
