I bought my wife the OLED Switch for Christmas! Any recommendations on games, accessories, etc? Tips?
I didn’t get any games or accessories and it seems the memory comes pretty low as is. Any tips or recommendations on games and storage cards?

New microsd from reputable brand like sandisk or Samsung they run affordable on Amazon. Cases and accessories you can get from anywhere but I like AliExpress for affordable and usually come with thumb grips and such included. Games will depend on what she likes but I always like to go to TikTok for some good reccs there’s plenty of really cheap and great indie games on the switch!

And get the joystick caps, the screen protector, and a transportation case
And an SD card when you eventually run out of storage space, but IMO the internal storage space for the OLED is pretty big for nintendo games

If she plans on playing in handheld a lot, I’d suggest a Satisfye Ronin grip w/case bc it makes it comfortable to hold.
* 1 TB memory card from SanDisk.
* Tempered glass screen protector
* Pro controller for playing docked.

I feel like guessing is somewhat sexist, however, my wife likes Spyro trilogy. Those types of games. Just depends on what types of games she likes.

Some personal recommendations:
Mario Odyssey
Luigi’s Mansion 3
Mario 3D World
OKAMI HD
Mario Wonder
Celeste
Stardew Valley
Aria_Cadenza
– a glass tempered screen protector
– a microSD card from Samsung or Sandisk (I would be wary of places like Amazon that commingles their stock, meaning that even if you buy from some reputed seller, the item can be taken from the stock of any seller and it could be fake. You will have to use a software to check)
– case
– maybe a pro controller
– check dekudeals to see when games are on sale. I personally like better to have physical games of first party games or games with a big size file. And digital copies of smaller games or very cheap ones.
I would suggest : stardew valley, BotW, maybe a pokémon game like Scarlet Violet and if you already know the series : Pokémon Legends Arceus. If you can get it cheap, Boomerang Fu as a fast easy to play party game.
Maybe a party game like Mario Kart 8 deluxe or Smash Bros… or a Mario Party game.

If she is in to playing it handheld for long periods, would recommend getting a mobapad m6 hd, basically an upgraded joycon, has hall effect joy sticks so will not have joystick drift, also still has hd Rumble and programmable back paddles
Other than that, will have better form factor so more comfortable handheld experience and can still dock etc.
I got one for my wife who plays stardew valley, has been great
trevno
Get a fat memory card, at least 512gb I’d recommend, then get Switch Online & go crazy on the eshop and classic Nintendo games.

A short hike – short cheap game, mentally chill, fly around and collect things and talk to quirky critters. Also fishing.
Little dragon cafe- run a cafe, gather ingredients, cook food , raise a dragon.
Rune factory 5 – farming, crafting, dungeon crawler, dating sim.
Pokémon legends Arceus – open world Pokémon game set in a historical time period.
Slugggo
you’ll get plenty of game recommendations here, so:
– at least a 256GB storage card. (1TB if you think you’ll be buying a lot of digital AAA games.)
– screen protectors ASAP!
– a basic soft case to protect it when it’s not in use.
– a controller for playing while docked. I just got an 8BitDo Ultimate controller on a Black Friday sale, you’ll see several other recommendations in this thread.
OK, at least 2 game recommendations:
– Okami is on sale on the eShop for $5.
– the Castlevania Anniversary collection is on sale on the eShop for $4. Whole bunch of classic retro games.
you might also want to browse the current eShop sale to see if there’s any other cheap stuff she’s interested in.
enjoy!

INFO NEEDED
Do you have children? Do they have access to their own Switch? Do you use other systems/consoles she already plays? Etc, etc, etc…
RE: Accessories
Even if you don’t have children, 100% get a protective case, screen protector, etc. Somehow you/your child/pet/friend who was over for 20min/etc is gonna bump into it wherever you thought was safe and make it hit the ground.
Get the biggest microSD card you can
RE: Games
If you have kids, does she want games to play with them, or with you (co-op)? Does she have any gaming experience? If so, what games/genres has she liked previously?
Legitimately need info in order to offer solid recommendations

You can get a [500gb micro sd card on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-512GB-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B0B7NVXLLM/ref=sr_1_3?crid=L0KQV7YHSV1W&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.jL33MSk3U7Al-tW34kaIyZ5rWAwUnbg5gRIrOY2aC0N1aZeAT6PXSzyoeDMtOzILbU4PglX_b522FsgB614uHqQY3Q7SksadZ_vF6NGVvGXqMIbGXP7t-SujCZGGJra5wIuxAnfxN9N4vbaUe3Mqx4sLaFhV4Xj0aek-l_iWvqh_ypOnfAJWfdLrzzcy1_SSuHFujauKP0wHvv4qj6YvaSQ0dFtO_kN1NolAlVWwhBc.mutFZUACgZk3sJqqR-g5fQ98kTEona13GfARRk0guUs&dib_tag=se&keywords=500+gig+micro+sd+card&qid=1735176154&sprefix=500+gig+micr%2Caps%2C239&sr=8-3) for under $40 and those are just as good as whatever Nintendo is selling for their sd cards. I’d also recommend getting a wireless Power A brand Controller. There is a [Mario 3 themed one](https://www.walmart.com/ip/PowerA-Enhanced-Wireless-Controller-for-Nintendo-Switch-SMB3/519174904?athcpid=519174904&athpgid=AthenaItempage&athcgid=null&athznid=cc&athieid=v0&athstid=CS020&athguid=HZP-A5oilNKiOvZJR1rLMHl3FrwyvJ1Jgool&athancid=358123308&athena=true) on Walmart’s website for a good price. (I know it doesn’t say Switch, but that’s a mislabel with the website.) Both of these, I’ve personally used, and I’ve loved. Also, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a ton of fun. I don’t like Zelda games in general, but that one REALLY hooked me with its simplicity and the puzzle aspects of it.
