I can’t believe that every single leak turned out to be true, I’m shaking.

I’m happy we get backwards compatibility.

Mario Kart 9! FINALLY! O_O
Of course it doesn’t really look different … MK8 (the original courses) pretty much looked perfect and only needed a higher resolution …

It’s been 13 minutes, where’s the 45 minute analysis on the new Mario Kart?

April 2nd presentation is brutal

The small moment when the new Joy-Cons are shown gliding across the table definitely gives the impression that the rumored ability to use them like computer mice is true.
Mario Paint 2, anyone?
Edit: What appears to be an optical sensor can be seen clearly on the side of the left Joy-Con at 1:02 in the video, situated between the connection port and the left shoulder button. It’s on the right Joy-Con as well. This is what would facilitate mouse controls.
Additionally, at 1:17 you can see the wrist straps detach from the Joy-Cons. The colored shells the straps are attached to likely serve as protective shields for the shoulder buttons and optical sensors when using mouse controls. They may also help the controllers glide more smoothly across flat surfaces, as evidenced by the black padding on the top and bottom end of each shell (which can be seen briefly in the video at 1:11 when the shells are attached).
Of course there’s no confirmation of any of this right now, but I feel pretty confident in this feature being real.

This very much feels like a “yes, the leaks are real shut up already we’ll tell you more in April” video.
But I’ll take it, I like what I see so far. The Switch was already great there’s no need to completely redesign everything so a well done version 2 will probably still be a day one buy for me. Even if it is just to play older games on a bigger screen.

People calling it MK9 when in reality it’s MK8 Deluxe Plus+

“Certain Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.”
Anybody want to venture a guess as to what might hold a current-gen Switch game back?

I hope Pokemon Legends Z-A is launch title, I can picture it now…

This video pretty much confirms that the joycon will function as a mouse! Very interesting.
Mario Kart is pretty much THE way to market the new system. Probably a launch game.
April 2nd for a Direct is a head scratcher. I know the NA tour for the hands-on event starts the following week, but the 2nd is a Friday (Saturday in Japan). Makes me think the absolutely earliest this could possibly release is June.
*EDIT:* April 2nd is a Wednesday, my brain went silly mode

I didn’t expect it to be literally called the Nintendo Switch 2 lol, very straightforward

The main takeaway from this video; they really want people to understand that this is a new console and is indeed the next generation Switch and not just a new model like the OLED. Nintendo trying to break the flopping console curse.

Was that a second usb-c charge port on the top? That would be cool I’m always worried I’m gonna bend the thing on my belly when I’m charging and playing

Digital library games being backwards compatible is the biggest news out of this, for me. I know they said it was backwards compatible before but they didn’t specify if that applies to digital, which to my knowledge is a first for Nintendo
produce_this
Anyone else concerned with the connection between the joycons and the switch? Over time I feel that that’s going to wear out. Also, looks easily breakable. Considering the “male” end is on the switch itself, if that part breaks, you’re kinda screwed.

I am very excited for the top USB C port. Makes charging while playing so much better.
