LEVEL-5 is raising the price of Fantasy Life i: The Who Steals Time to cover the extra costs of multiplatform development; physical version in the west seemingly cancelled.

The price increase was announced by LEVEL-5 via a Famitsu article: https://www.famitsu.com/article/202502/33685

In order to expand the platform and improve the graphics as a result, we have reviewed the original sales price and revised it to a new price. We look forward to your continued support.

  • Old price: Package version: 6,578 yen (tax included) / Download version: 6,500 yen (tax included)
  • New price: Regular edition: 7,678 yen (tax included) / Digital Deluxe Edition (only for download version): 8,778 yen (tax included)

On the international official website there are listed all version of the game available in the west: https://www.fantasylife.jp/fli/en/product/

Standard Edition (digital): $59.99

Digital Deluxe Edition (digital): $69.99

(Note that the Digital Deluxe Edition comes with 3 days early access on every platform except Switch).

There is no mention of a phyiscal release for the game in the west, while the website mentions a Switch/PS5 physical release in the japanese portal.

Nintendo previously announced a physical release of the game, but it seems to have disappeared. On multiple Amazon european stores the preorder page still exists, but now without a price or the possibility to actually buy the game: https://www.amazon.it/Fantasy-Life-Videogioco-Nintendo-Italiana/dp/B0D5HZ48QH

Searching online I did find that it originally costed €49.99 in Europe, so we have confirmation that the price increase also happened in the west.
