I do not know very much of Nintendolife, but there is no way this game is a 8/10 as of right now? Maybe eventually, but it seems buggy as hell?

Seems like a good port of an imperfect game. I can see from NL’s video review the game looks MUCH better than Civ6 on Switch and blurry textures aside, it’s very close visually to the PC version. With the comprormise being textures, detail and the fps being uneven.
I have been playing on PC (4k 120fps) , 40 hours so far. It has issues, but the one more turn bug is back. I know this because i’ve been going to bed way past my bedtime over the past week.
I would love to play this on my Switch 2, hopefully, the Switch version gets patched for Switch 2 or they release a separate Switch 2 version.

Does this have have like a 2D board game version like the PC version had in civ6?
Seems the obvious solution to graphic problems

Anyone else have an issue putting this game in sleep mode? Feel like often times it softlocks the system on me. Coming out of sleep mode is just a black screen needing a hard reset.

civ franchise is one of my fave and most played but giving it an 8 is ridiculous. im even a superfan and bias on the franchise yet im not stupid enough to rate it 8 and more as it is now.

I’m less than 20 hours in but I’m enjoying it. I’ve only experienced one technical issue with the UI not highlighting a tile but it was also in a long game session (4+ hours) and restarting the Switch resolved the issue. Civ6 + DLC on the Switch was my first Civ game. I did about 150 turns on my first game in Civ7 before abandoning it to start over. Second game, I’ve reached the second age and I’ll push through to the end.
The tiny and small maps don’t bother me since Civ games take over. It’s great for a pick up and go session and I hope there is an upgrade path for Switch2. The Switch version sells for $10 less so if I can upgrade to Switch2 for the same $10, it’s win/win.
Surprisingly, the Switch version outsold the PC and Xbox version in Europe.
