Is it just me, or is every “according to former Nintendo employee” article posted just regurgitation of some Kit and Krysta video? They’re probably not *wrong*, but the framing here feels disingenuous. They likely weren’t that high up the NoA totem pole, and most claims of theirs are essentially educated guesses.

All I know is it won’t be $300. $400-$500 is my guess, probably $400 to under cut PS and Xbox

Nintendo might not have even finalised the price yet.

My prediction is that it will be less than $69million

Basically we’re all just playing The Price is Right: Nintendo Switch 2 special launch event.

Selling the new Nintendo Console at a premium is not going to be a successful strategy. There are basically three consumer basis:
Families – will mainly focus on budget. If you’re a parent today, the switch cost $100-200 less than the competition and has many kid, friendly games. Increases the price could hurt that.
Casual Gamer – won’t care if the cost is high. If I already have a PS5/XBSX, PC, or something else, I’m probably not interested. My wife bought me a switch because I could travel with it and we could play together. Biggest selling point was price/portability. If price is gone, I would have never gotten a switch. I would have just asked for a PS5/XBSX and moved on.
Hardcore Gamers – will focus on higher end systems, such as PC, PS5,XBSX, or even the Steamdeck. Some will buy, but I suspect this new console won’t be as powerful, and therefore, less appealing.
Genuinely, I think the biggest appeal is upper middle class families who buy the latest and greatest. In the US, the middle class is shrinking, and there creo don’t believe this will be as appealing.

Haha seems like news outlets are using Kit and Krysta’s podcast as stories now

Everyone is reasonably surmising a price in the range of $400-500. Beyond that, everything is guesswork.

I predict that it won’t be free

Obviously I’m really hoping for a $399.99 price point but with inflation, the Japanese yen being weak right now, and potential tariffs I am starting to mentally prepare myself for a $449.99 price point. Anything higher than 450 and I’m not gonna buy it day one, I’ll wait for some exclusives to build up and then buy one later
