Online multi-player only is a hard pass for me. I like Souls games that are deep with single player content, which seems like it won’t have.

doug bowser dropping hints as if it were an e3 trailer fromsoftware on switch 2 with miyazaki at the helm is like mixing whiskey with nitro pure brain combustion.

An article about an interview that doesn’t include *a single quote*.

    Gaming journalism is wild.

I mean completely agree, FromSoft has grown to the powerhouse they are now because they’ve always published high quality content. Why should anyone think they’d compromise that earned respect now? No doubt in my mind this game will be awesome.

Still doesn’t justify slapping 80$ price tags on glorified ds games.

  6. Well actually does it? The project started out on Switch 1 so surely the new hardware is just a bonus? Im very down with Switch 2 and excited about a lot of its improvements and features but Miyazaki was approached about Switch 2 after the project had already started afaik

  7. That’s a strange statement. In the previous interview Miyazaki said that they approached Nintendo with Duskblood way before they knew about Switch 2 and they initially wanted to develop it for the original Switch. Nintendo approached them with Switch 2 and they hopped on the idea very quickly.

I mean yeah, we can guess that with the Switch 2, Miyazaki has more freedom developing a new game, but they would’ve developed the game even without the Switch 2.

Not really, as its multiplayer. If he had faith, it would be their next big single player title.

I’m just waiting for more news on Elden Ring Tarnished edition. I haven’t had time to play elden ring, been in Grad School a few years. I do have a full build planned out for PS5, but if it runs well enough and launches on switch 2 with gear for link (champion tunic or champion leathers and a master sword) I would really want to RP the game as Link and pretend its the sequel to BOTW instead of TOTK (an objectively good game, but not for me, I disliked the new mechanics and never played past the first tear).

I just think auteurs like Miyazaki likes to experiment around – they have a creative but restless spirit. Working with Nintendo means that he kinda has a clean slate to work with, whereas if he pitched it to Sony they will already have set expectations from him already.

  11. didnt they say big N helped fund the project which was originally going to be an NS game they took interest in? So really money more so than faith, prolly both but still.

  12. Some of Nintendo’s marketing is weird. You’d think just the tremendous success of the original Switch and the positive feedback from developers and publishers (minus EA) and of course its fans would be enough. Word-of-mouth And Nintendo’s longevity have usually been Nintendo‘s strong suit, which is how the Switch and Wii were so successful.

I don’t know whether they’re still feeling ptsd from the Wii U but they’re not doing themselves a lot of favors trying to brag about things that aren’t really things to brag about.

Nintendo’s messaging over the last couple weeks in regard to the Switch 2 has been absolutely bizarre.

  14. ThatMadao

Bullshit. Miyazaki said in interview that Duskbloods were supposed to be on the original Switch, then the plan changed. This guy is so insuferable. Since he got in charge, nothing possitive came from Nintendo of America. Such downgrade from Reggie.

I mean it’s cool that From is making this for Switch but they aren’t known for delivering rock steady performance games regardless of hardware. Not sure From making game on Nintendo says any real about their “faith in hardware”…

  16. Biggman23

Or that you signed an exclusivity deal with him…

  17. Moznomick

Or a really good pay check. The guy seems to be passionate about what he does and he’s blessed to get paid to do something he loves, but in the end we all have to pay our bills.

Remember when leaks said third party devs didn’t have Switch 2 kits yet? Always thought was a fun nonsense type of rumor. Nintendo for the past few consoles always has a big 3rd party game during the launch year.

Wii had Red Steel, Wii U had Zombi U, Switch had Mario and Rabbids, Switch 2 has Duskbloods. Now personally not the biggest fan of Fromm games but it’s cool that they’re keeping the tradition going.

  19. No single player 🥲🥲😭 hard pass from me, but i hope its still good

  20. MarcsterS

Miyazaki said that Duskbloods started as a Switch 1 project. But In sure moving to Switch 2 hardware led to a much smoother development process.

Am I the only one that feels what they showed from the game doesn’t look that good? Looks like pretty dated graphics

  22. MrMichaelJames

Ugh who cares. It’s a multiplayer game. Do people really want this type? Let the switch have it.

  23. A dump truck full of money probably didn’t hurt.

  24. ElricDarkPrince

Another online game I’ll pass I’ll wait till there online service is free again won’t pay for either console online service the should be free

  25. Due_Offer_5895

Not into multiplayer games so this is a solid no buy for me

  26. Good gameplay doesn’t need HUGE graphical prowess. That’s why if BotW only came out in the Wii U in 2017, it would still have gotten all around 10/10’s. It just happened to also releqse on th3le Switch out of convenience for a launch title (which was genius btw, since Wii U was not spread out on the market and BotW would DEFINITELY not be a huge market mover for that platform newr end of life anyway, with PS4 and Xbox One so far ahead.

What I mean to say is: give a good dev a decent enough platform, and thamey can make it shine.

I’m sure developers are very secure in the hardware. I wonder if their faith in sales will be so richly rewarded.

  28. Aggravating-Face2073

Switch 2 will sell well within its lifetime, but likely not as well as Switch 1.

Dudkblood is the type of game that can be incredibly fun the first few weeks, maybe months, but if you miss out early on & try to play with years past it’s launch, your going to be joining a bunch of sweaty try hardships that don’t know how to move on.

Its a once in a lifetime experience.

  29. mvanvrancken

I’m sure he also has faith in the huge pile of money

  30. Yeah well with those prices, I think “faith” should be extended to people’s wallets.
