But do they taste different?

Is this to stop Switch 2 cartridges from fitting into the Switch like the flag on a 3DS game, and if so the how? And more importantly, do they still taste like Clorox?

Wow! Finally a good reason to upgrade to the Switch 2!
Careless_Symphony
So you can’t insert them into a Switch 1 I assume?
BANAnaS_Dad
This is much less absurd than the 3DS notch.

Nintendo doesn’t want you to know if you file down the notch your Switch 2 carts will work perfectly on a Switch 1

so a game price increase and we get less plastic? /s
jmathews777
Does that actually prevent the new cartridges from being inserted into a Switch 1?
If so, that looks wayyy better than the 3DS cartridges!

This is only tangentially related but what even is the point of the Nintendo Today app? They said it was to reveal “the latest nintendo news” but so far, the only news they’ve actually revealed has been the release date of a Zelda movie that’s two years out. Every other new bit of nintendo news and info, even quirky stuff like this, I’ve heard from practically everywhere but the app despite checking it daily.

So, reminiscent of the notches on GB, GBC, and GBA carts. Neat.

Tastes like blood.

I can’t explain it clearly, but I feel like the missing chunk in the Switch 2 Game Cards makes the design feel like its the Switch 1 that can accept both cards instead of the other way around. Like the 2 would have an extra nub in its cartridge slot to stop the originals from sliding in.

Same song and dance as the GB and GBC cartridges, as well as the NDS and 3DS ones.
The old one fits in the new console while the newest one won’t fit in the old console.

I don’t know if I like how the entire cartridge is this bright red. It makes sense, but I feel like they could have picked a better color/style to differentiate from Switch 1 carts.

As someone that owns one of those cartridge cases that holds way more game slots than games i own , I was really worried the switch 2 cartridges wouldn’t fit in there. I’m happy to be proven different, these are gonna fit great!

But can you put tape over it, so that you can record on it?
makoman115
Kinda similar to DS and 3DS
iWentRogue
Kinda like 3DS and DS cartridges.
Practical-Courage812
But how does it impact the flavor of the cartridge?

Maybe don’t post Twitter links?

What do I do with this information

Who cares, tell me what it tastes like
Gloomydoge
was this note visualized and said within like the first 5 seconds the new cartridges were shown in the direct

I think it’s like the GBA. There was a switch that changes the mode from GBA to GBC, and maybe that’s the reason why the cutout is there.
