7 duos with rivals for Legendary Gauntlet 19 [Pokemon Masters EX]

Keeping track of my LG19 clears here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CltcsfTaXDgz_FHSlNci9BMzQBHFyj0z_f0a-I9Bi20/edit

Here’s how each battle went and the sync grids used:

0:00 – Vs. Cresselia: EX DC Hugh / EX Lodge Lear – https://pomatools.github.io/#/team?v0=006600055300&s0=5&l0=150&r0=6&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=4444&g0=AAECAwQFFRgcHiMlJyosLS4&v1=014700052100&s1=3&l1=150&r1=6&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=44444&g1=AAECAwQFERQYGxwdHiAhIyYnKis&v2=0

Hugh has the fun niche of being able to debuff Sp Atk even if Growl misses (or of it gets reflected), and with his Sp Def buffs and gradual heal, he makes for a good enough pseudo tank.

3:35 – Vs. Entei: EX DC Barry / Tech Onix – https://pomatools.github.io/#/team?v0=009540&s0=1&l0=150&r0=5&p0=0&a0=17010901&t0=1111&n0=3&f0=20&v1=009900041900&s1=5&l1=150&r1=6&p1=0&a1=13016403&t1=44444&g1=AAECAwQFERMWFxgbHh8iIyYuLw&v2=0

DC Barry doesn’t need much to see Entei through as he has very high damage, but he does have to deal with the Defense buffs in Bar 1. That’s where Tech Onix comes in, who with innate Vigilance can also run Escape Artist to shrug off Fire Spin.

6:33 – Vs. Cresselia: EX-R +10E Mix Blue / Blaine – https://pomatools.github.io/#/team?v0=005900007800&s0=5&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=44444&g0=AAECAwQFBggSExQVFxgaGx0eHyMkJSY&v1=002102000600&s1=5&l1=150&r1=6&p1=0&a1=13016303&t1=44444&g1=AAECAwQFCQsPERMWGBkeHyIkLg&v2=0

All of the Mix Kantrio have innate Piercing Gaze and debuffs, making them great picks for Cresselia. Blue needs the most help as he doesn’t have healing, but what he does have is both a physical and special move. That Bar 1 transition should’ve been smoother as a skill proc would’ve meant I could skip Icy Wind but alas

9:18 – Vs. Azelf: EX DC Hop / NY Volkner – https://pomatools.github.io/#/team?v0=011501046600&s0=1&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=13010602&t0=44444&g0=AAECAwQFBgcICQoLERITFBUWHB0eHyUmJyg&v1=024400087100&s1=3&l1=150&r1=6&p1=0&a1=18010909&t1=44444&g1=AAECAwQFCQsNDg8RFBclJigr&v2=0

Pretty standard flinch clear that might honestly be overkill, but I wanted to include this since I finally found a duo partner for NY Volkner where he does more than help a Support with their solo lol

12:31 – Vs. Cresselia: EX TCG Marnie / MC Pikachu – https://pomatools.github.io/#/team?v0=900000002500&s0=5&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=444&g0=AAECAwQFERwdICEkJicoKSwt&v1=024500051000&s1=3&l1=150&r1=6&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=44444&g1=AAECAwQFFRYYGhsjJScqLS4v&v2=0

TCG Marnie’s kit is pretty much made to counter Cresselia, but she needs help since she can’t soak the damage on her own. That’s where Pikachu comes in with his potions – he needs 2 MPRs to see the clear through.

17:31 – Vs. Entei: EX Variety Hop / Support Electrode – https://pomatools.github.io/#/team?v0=010120&s0=1&l0=150&r0=5&p0=0&a0=17010901&t0=4444&n0=1&f0=0&v1=024400081200&s1=3&l1=150&r1=6&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=44444&x1=true&g1=AAECAwQFCAsNGhsdICIjJA&v2=0

VHop’s in a weird spot in this rotation as his kit isn’t particularly good in any of the stages, but he does have high damage. He manages to push through Entei’s Fire weakness with a bit of help from Support Electrode, who’s able to tank Bar 1 on its own.

20:45 – Vs. Cresselia: EX-R Trevor / EX Event Blue – https://pomatools.github.io/#/team?v0=002100005900&s0=5&l0=150&r0=6&p0=0&a0=18040501&t0=44444&g0=AAECAwQFBgkKDA0QHygpKist&v1=018100067102&s1=4&l1=150&r1=6&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=4444&x1=true&g1=AAECAwQFBggLDhARExYXGhseISM&v2=0

Trevor is a pretty solid Cresselia counter, but he needs some help dealing with those Slashes. That’s where Event Blue comes in with his Attack debuffs, and his damage helps in blitzing through Bars 2 and 3.

  1. Are you manipulating RNG or do you no-life this game? None of these runs are impossible, but the odds you can achieve your current streak using the teams listed after only a few days is really low. Even the first run here seems 'easy' but there are so many failure points you're potentially resetting, on average, in the avenue of 30min, or conservatively, 15mins. You already have 128 such teams listed a week after the Gauntlet began, so 15mins*128teams = 32 hours.
