Good. Fuck the bots. Many of the game stops in Ontario have stock, even after yesterday. Not high stock but they are available. People went nuts online though, completely sold out

I wish nintendo would somehow work with ebay to destroy all the scalpers on there. Already tons of listings for $650+. Be nice to make them all get delisted and those people either have to cancel or sit on them.

If this is true, I have to give props to GS. Bots and scalpers have ruined anything and everything that’s in high demand. They were always there, but the crappy implementation of ordering stuff nowadays allows for them to run rampant.

It’s the people that buy from scalpers that are the real problem, no one would be doing this if people weren’t buying these overpriced items. This all started with sneaker culture and it has spread to everything… FOMO is a real thing. If you didn’t get one just be patient, it’s not that hard. It’s the same exact experience if you play it on day 1 or day 60.

I like the cancelling duplicate orders and bot orders. Make it hard for scalpers and get it in the hands of people who want to use it and will buy games for it.Keep it out of the hands of the douche who wants to take a picture with 50 of them in their room and charge double the price to the real fans. Scalpers also hurt developers since if most units are sitting in their room waiting to be sold then not as many people are out buying games for the systems.

Power to the players! My Gamestop got 50 units, 15 base and 35 bundle. They handled it well, about a half hour before open came out with sheets and highlighters so we could mark what we wanted to preorder to move things faster.

I wish I had a game stop by me, if I did I could actually pre order one but nope. The only place close to me that I could have done was Walmart but they sold out instantly while I was refreshing Amazon, not knowing it wouldn’t be on there.

Of all the places to purchase a NS2, GameStop is currently the GOAT in regards to this.
They are transparent in regards to their in-store stocks and are trying to prevent the scalpers from gaining from the launch.

You can still just walk into one of the six gamestops in my city and pre-order one no problem, they want a $250 deposit on the console or $300 on the bundle

Thinking about it, scalpers are taking away money from Nintendo and retailers. Fewer systems with gamers, less game and accessory sales. Knocking down scalpers helps us find a system, and companies make more $$ with long-term sales.
I somehow managed to secure one the moment pre-orders went up. But I’ve been through the struggle with the PS5 when Ratchet and Clank came out. A PS5 took me a month to hunt with trackers.
If I had a nickel for every time I snagged a high-demand system from Walmart (of all places), I would have 2 nickels.

In person reserve = no problem. Online = massive problem. That means demand really isn’t as strong as the bot/scalper mess is making it seem.
Don’t get suckered into over paying. Anyone who wants one won’t have a problem getting one when they’re released.

GameStop, Walmart, Target, all have tools to combat scalpers, their stores. Only allow stock in the store and bots can’t beat it.
I also think retailers should adopt a registry where you signup and get a place in line. When it’s your turn you get a couple days to pay for it.

I just went there physically and it was SO much less of a nightmare than spending 3 hours refreshing pages and glitching out shopping carts.
If you’re in line, you get one until they’re sold out.
If you’re online, the website crashes, the pages refresh, and you may even accidentally purchase a Switch with no info attached due to a glitch.
Let us just go physical again.

I got one late in the day at the gamestop inside one of the largest malls in the area where they only had ONE employee working on Switch pre-order day and I am -horrified- my pre-order is going to get cancelled.
