Based on what we’ve seen they’ve done very little to improve it from a ui perspective, just a boost to the performance (which you’d take as a given). Quite underwhelming.

Really, regarding your store. Nintendo has a lot to improve on compared to its competitors. It looks like amateur work. Unlike the Playstation store, for example, I rarely look at the Nintendo store without a specific objective.

A don’t show me this again style button to block games I not interested in from showing up every time I launch the shop
A compatible listing on the games like Steam has for the deck
A rating/feedback for follow gamers
It just needs to run faster/smoother

Honestly, yeah. I’m a huge Nintendo fan, and even I can see how bad it is. When it first came? It was pretty good! But it was very clear years and years in it needed updating.
AND THEIR QUALITY ASSURANCE— WTF HAPPENED????? It’s near-IMPOSSIBLE to find good obscure games without digging through coming soon/recently added on a regular basis. There’s SO much garbage shovelware mobile ports, dozens of lookalike fake games, and honest to God I’d rather the Switch 2 launch with no games and just the box than have to see another garbage AI slop title crowding the eshop. Honest to God I am REALLY hoping they fix their process for what does and doesn’t get onto the eshop.
An obscure game called Unreal Life? Great! Mario Odyssey— of course? Hentai Girls AI garbage (especially for the 80th time)— really????

Can we not have overly compressed JPEGs for the game icons? There was no excuse to not use losslessly compressed game icons in 2017.

I just wish it goes back to using pages like on 3ds shop. I hate the endless scrolling. You accidentally press left too far and go back to the tabs, then go right and you’re back to the very top again and it acts like you haven’t loaded anything previously so takes forever to try to find out where you last were. Basically killed whatever interest I had in trying to stumble upon an impulse buy, just had to already know the game name beforehand which really limited me to buying just the well marketed games.
(I haven’t loaded the eshop in ages, so someone please correct me if I’m wrong and they’ve actually did do that)

Nintendo needs to get rid of all the dollar shovelware games that take over the entire store. Last time I was browsing looking for something to buy, all the pages were monopolized by garbage “games.” It’s hard to find anything if you don’t already know what’s available and what you want. Just randomly searching for something worthy to spend money on is impossible. Sad.

I’d be happy if the eshop were less flooded with garbage. It’s usually easy to spot that stuff but it hurts developers whose legitimate games get lost in the new release shuffle.
