Late August is almost three months after release, and after the release of both DK and Metroid Prime 4, which means all the big first party titles currently announced will already be shipped.
While they might just devote it to games already out, it might also be a chance to show off some footage/demos of games coming this Fall.
edit: MP4 doesnt have a release date yet. I was thinking it was due out in July, but I guess not

It’s interesting they are doing events again. Their price hikes really killed my enthusiasm for the Switch 2 unfortunately, I’m glad I still have one more Pokémon game release for the Switch 1 at the end of the year as I don’t plan to buy a Switch 2 for a long time if at all.

– Mario Kart World
– Donkey Kong Bananza
– Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition
– Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 Edition
– Super Mario Party Jamboree Switch 2 Edition
– Kirby and the Forgotten Land Switch 2 Edition (the next week)
It’s definitely going to be time to reveal more of the Switch 2 roadmap.
