Review: Dbrand’s Killswitch is the best all-around Switch 2 case

  1. I’ve been checking out a lot of new Switch 2 accessories recently, almost all of which were produced before the companies that made them ever touched a real Switch 2. Even a millimeter’s difference in dimensions could completely throw off a design, and some products I’ve tried lack a perfect fit. For example, Genki’s Attack Vector has problems, which the company is now reworking. It’s probably not the only one. However, Dbrand’s Killswitch kit offers the best fit and best protection right out of the gate.

I adored the kit when I tested it on my Steam Deck, and this one doesn’t mess with the winning formula. Dbrand had to engineer its own USB-C dock adapter since a Killswitch-equipped console doesn’t fit in Nintendo’s dock. Its adapter is included, with no cutbacks to visual fidelity in docked mode. It’s a little clunky, but I’m mainly just happy that it works, so I don’t have to take the Killswitch off every time I want to dock the Switch 2.

It’s only the best because they paid you to say that. No one wants to pay that absurd price for a regular plastic case

This review basically addresses all of the reasons I ordered one. I just wish I knew about them sooner. I have a Steam Deck, but have never needed a case (because the 1tb OLED comes with two…kind of…a smaller/slimmer case actually pulls out of the larger case). With the Switch 2, I need something to toss it in my laptop/work bag but like the author of this review, have also gotten much more used to the ergonomics of the Deck. Well, just have to wait another month or so (probably). Glad to see another good review, particularly since I’ve seen feedback on the few YouTube reviews accusing those of being paid for ads (I mean, welcome to the world of online influencers?). Anyways, those seemed legit enough, and for the price, it honestly should be quality.

EDIT; noting that the TomToc Steam Deck case I have (bought as a slimmer alternative to the LCD Deck I originally had) fits the Switch 2, although there’s a little extra room for it to slide around – it’s probably good enough for dropping in a laptop bag for the moment).

EDIT #2: I guess it won’t be far enough from a paid ad for the case until someone trashes it? That truly is the Nintendo way lol. No worries, I’m sure we’ll get there, and I’m equally confident those posts will be much more popular haha.

  4. My question is who the heck is paying $4/month to subscribe to the verge
