List of third party docks that work with Switch 2

I've been trying to find a good dock to use for travel, but most of the info about what works and what doesn't is spread out over a million different threads. I've been making some notes about what I've found, and hopefully this can serve as a central place for info on what works.

  • Antank S3 Max/SIWIQU
    • Pros
      • Much smaller than the Nintendo dock
      • Cheap compared to other docks
    • Cons
      • Requires firmware update for full functionality
      • Still fairly bulky compared to some of the others
      • Partially blocks the air intake vents on the console
    • Price: ~$30 USD on Amazon
  • Viture Pro Mobile Dock
    • Pros
      • Integrated battery bank. You do not need to have it plugged into the wall
      • Works amazingly with AR glasses
      • Can be used with pretty much anything. Not limited tot switch 2
    • Cons
      • Requires firmware update for full functionality
      • Cannot charge the dock while playing so your playtime is limited by the size of the battery bank
      • No USB A port for accessories
      • The included USB C cable doesn't work with switch 2, so you will need to buy a different one
      • Difficult to use with monitors/TVs. It worked well with my xreal glasses, but was incredibly finicky when I tried to use a USB C to HDMI adapter to plug it into a TV. That might just be user error though. Supposedly you can plug it directly into a monitor that supports USB C as a display input, but I don't have any to test that feature on
    • Price: $130 USD
  • AVerMedia Elite Go
    • Pros
      • Small. Similer to the genki covert dock for switch 1 in that it is just a wall plug that supports docking
      • Works with other devices besides switch 2
      • Also works as a capture card for use on a laptop/pc
    • Cons
      • Requires firmware update for full functionality
    • Price: $130 USD
  • AVerMedia Core Go
    • Pros
      • This is basically the same as the Elite Go except it doesn't work as a capture card
    • Cons
      • Requires firmware update for full functionality
    • Price: $80 USD
  • Other AVerMedia products
  • Hagibis USB3.0 Video Capture Card
    • Pros
      • Very travel-friendly. It's just a cable!
      • Can be used as a normal dock or a capture card
    • Cons
      • Requires firmware update for full functionality
    • Price: ~$30 USD

UNRELEASED DOCKS

  • GameStop TV Adaptor for Nintendo Switch 2
    • This was supposed to be released a couple of weeks ago, but from what I can tell no one has gotten their hands on it yet
    • Pros
      • Very travel-friendly. It's just a little adapter similar to a lot of the switch 1 docks
      • The product page says it has built in HD! Usually I have to my my HD separately. It's nice of gamestop to finally give my switch HD without having to plug it in like normal
    • Cons
      • Might not exist(?)
      • May or may not be limited to 720p. The product page is a mess
    • Price: $60 USD ($57 USD for pro members)
  • Biogenik Compact Travel Dock Nintendo Switch 2
    • Expected shipping date is 2025-12-31, so I imagine there's just no concrete release date yet
    • I can only find this in Canada. It's able to be preordered on gamestop.ca at the moment
    • Pros
      • Compact and easy to travel with
    • Cons
      • May be difficult to obtain in other countries besides Canada
    • Price: $70 CAD

If I've missed any, please let me know! I'll update this post for a little while as new docks are released, but hopefully the floodgates will open soon and there will be enough working third party docks that a dedicated post for them wont be needed!

Me waiting for Genki to release a new dock.

  2. FunkyTangg

Has there been a dock shell announced that uses the Dock 2 motherboard in a smaller format?

  3. DaRk_ViVi

Are there any tiny docks suggested for switch 1 instead (or any plans for adapters to use the switch 2 one?)

  4. Section_80

To anyone spending over $100+ for a 3rd party dock, I saw someone make a shell on Etsy. Just buy an OEM dock and reshell it.

For those looking for a cheaper solution. I don’t trust any of them

Appreciate this info. I’m be interested in a cheap alternative, so the first one you mentioned interests me. But, after the fiasco of the Switch 1 with third party docks in the early years, I will likely wait a while to make sure they are safe, but also see what other options come up.

Also, makes me curious why the official dock would include a fan, but third party docks would not. I recognize the fan is really just for the dock internals and not the console itself.

  6. Requiring a firmware update is not a con it’s a plus to make stuff work that previously didn’t. Unless you don’t have any type of computer it’s a non issue+ you can always find a computer to use.

I’ll take the avermedia all day.

Isn’t the og dock making like 30 handshakes+ or something

  8. I really hope they can update my ROG Allydock for switch 2!

  9. TheOffChristian

Nice to see more devices are getting updated to support Switch 2, hoping ASUS can update their ROG Charging Dock soon

  10. Just received my siwiqu dock from Amazon. I updated the firmware but still couldn’t get any video output. Thought the bad Amazon reviews were just user error after watching it work on YouTube videos but I will be returning mine.

  11. Saw a user confirm a Hagibis product updated with the correct firmware
could work with Nintendo Switch 2. The product looked like a super generic/
white label HDMl out, so I found the cheapest one I could on Amazon ($14)
that outputs 4k 60Hz, and used the Hagibis instructions and firmware. Low
and behold, the cheaper other brand took the update seamlessly and it works.

  12. Thank you for this. May you one shot all bosses and be blessed by the RNG Gods.

  13. I know for the switch one I bought the dock motherboards on AliExpress. Is it too soon to buy motherboards and then 3D print the smaller cases. Because I was giving those out for Christmas for the switch one.

Hagibis 8k adaptor works and it’s only $22.

Bought and updated FW today. Full HDR works on both my LG Oled and Hisense projector. Basically flawless.

Since it’s inherently a cable, it’s very travel friendly, but, no USB in’s etc.

OP this is the most comprehensive list I’ve seen! Fantastic job. I just found out yesterday that my AverMedia Core Go sitting in the drawer could act as a portable travel dock with a small firmware update and have been so happy with it! Also wasn’t aware the Core Go price dropped to $80 that’s not bad at all, thought it would’ve been much more expensive, I think it was over $100 US when I bought mine. Highly recommend for anyone really looking for that portability and another advantage is it doesn’t block switch airflow since it’s just a wall plug!

Also was ready to post a reply saying “there’s a biogenik one from Canada” but you got it in there, good due diligence!

Why do people need third party docks? What’s wrong with the stock dock?

  17. RiftHunter4

I can hear the uproar in the Nintendo R&D department. “WE SPENT ALL THAT TIME AND THEY WON’T USE OUR DOCK”.

  18. After seeing this thread I went out and bought the AverMedia Elite Go and I can confirm that it works perfectly both as a dock with a TV and as a capture card for the Switch 2.

While it must add some latency in capture mode, I could play Zelda TOTK through the captured stream on my laptop with no problem and did not perceive any lag.

I installed the firmware update before trying anything so I cannot comment on how it’s functionnality without the firmware update (if unable to update since it require a Winwdows PC)

For those of us with cases that need an adapter to fit on the OEM dock, like the KillSwitch2, I think the price is not too bad since we would need to pay for a second dock, another dock adapter+shipping. That add’s up to more than what this adapter costs and does not solve the bulkiness of the OEM dock.

Obviously, if you don’t need the capture feature, from the review I saw (youtubers usually reviewed both in the same video), the AverMedia Core Go seems to work really well too and is cheaper thant the OEM dock.

  19. Joosby_Calamari

The avermedia docks have a decent sized flaw. They are only hdmi 1.4 so you won’t get hdr when on 4k/60

  20. Joosby_Calamari

On the hagabis, I believe you need to go to the 8k version of the cable to get 4k and hdr but I’m not -00% sure. Hoping for confirmation from people who have the regular cables from hagabis
