New titles published by Nintendo will continue to be added to the program, however sale of new vouchers will end on January 30th.

Voucher have a validity of 12 months, so they will continue to be redeemable up until January 30th 2027 (if bought on the very last day).

Google Translation: “We are pleased to announce…” What?

The removal of vouchers and gold points leaves nothing left to save a buck on nintendo games. Guess this is what happens when they’re the market leader

  4. Ok-Wafer-4837

Not surprised. They’re getting wayyyyy too confident lol

  5. bowsNcanes

I just used them today to compete my xenoblade library with X and 3 and I don’t get them often but it was nice while it lasted

I only buy physical, mostly used so it doesn’t apply to me, but it sucks to see them abandon something so widely used by many. Same with gold points, which I actually could use from physical games.

Look, I love Nintendo’s games, but if they didn’t consistently produce some high-quality products I would have ditched them ages ago.

The greed has really reared its ugly head this generation. One can only hope for some real competition in the hybrid space to push them to make better, more consumer-friendly choices in regards to deals and pricing.

  9. SuperMazziveH3r0

MMW: Furukawa’s penny pinching will be the downfall of Nintendo.

At some point, all the good will built by Iwata will dry up and people will seek alternative sources of entertainment

  10. When can we actually get some good news, freebies, something in this generation? For a company that positions itself as family friendly they pretty sure aren’t anymore

  11. GarionOrb

Yeah, the writing was on the wall when Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza weren’t eligible for vouchers. Heaven forbid we save a buck every now and then.

  12. Hyliaforce

Never used it anyways but it sucks for others that do use it

  13. redmandolin

Damn, it was so good value in NZ where retails is at stupid prices

  14. Oh damn.

My last voucher literally expires next week and I was still sort of at a loss as to what to burn it on.

Still, can’t deny that I’ve got my money’s worth over the years. Especially when buying E-shop credit at 15~20% off from store sales themselves.

  15. goldninjaI

Weird change considering you can’t buy switch 2 games anyways, at least let people get switch 1 games cheaper damn

  16. DJfunkyPuddle

Really unfortunate, the voucher program is how I got all my games because their sales are always ass.

  17. drybones2015

It’s just crazy how transparent they are with their greed when they’re on top.

  18. bwoah07_gp2

Yeah, talk about another lame decision by Nintendo…. 😮‍💨

  19. company doing well -> you get less cool shit thats actually worth your money

  20. Jardolam_

I wish Nintendo had a similar subscription to PS Extra. I get Cyberpunk as part of my subscription this now, or I could pay $120AUD to play it on Switch 2. I know we have the classics but I’d happily pay more to have a whole library of games from third party developers.

  21. AlteisenX

Nintendo better do actual fucking discounts then.

I don’t need Odyssey to be $10, but come on… Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze should not be more than $40 USD/CAD lol.

  22. john_weiss

    Well well well…

Seems like we will need another Wii U situation to make Nintendo nervous so they would bring back programs such as these.

Oh well, let’s see if the hubris clouds their judgment in the next decade or so.

  23. Aren’t Nintendo Switch 2 games already uneligible anyways?
