Going from A Link to the Past to Ocarina of Time blew my 14 year old mind!

Isn’t it just Ocarina of Time and BotW? What’s the third one?

It’s a Nintendo thing. They’re very good at keeping quality high while they’re completely “upending the tea table.”

Mario went from DK to Mario Bros. to Super Mario Bros. to SMB2 USA to SMB3 in succession. They’re all quite different from each other, discounting SMB2 JP, with even the next most similar pair (SMB1 and 3) being very different in many regards. This series would go on to reinvent itself in Mario 64, Galaxy, 3D Land, and again in Odyssey.

Metroid, Super Metroid, and Prime are all vastly different experiences. One bringing both Mario and Zelda together to discover the search-action genre, the next fully realizing the concept of a metroidvania, and Prime making the leap to 3D, like Mario and Zelda before it.

And then Star Fox… never mind.

Zelda 2 is a great game I refuse to hear otherwise.

Edit: people who hate Zelda 2 also hate Nija Gaiden. These are facts.

The best 3 too. Hope they reinvent the series again for switch 2 but I doubt it.

Basically once a decade the franchise reinvents itself.

Which is awesome that they’ve basically all been successful.

    Lol at “3 times”

Zelda reinvents itself every other game.

  10. > Instead, Ball said, The Legend of Zelda should feel “grounded” and “real”. I want to fulfill people’s greatest desires,” Ball said in another interview about the project. “I know it’s important, this franchise, to people, and I want it to be a serious movie. A real movie that can give people an escape… [It has] to feel like something real. Something serious and cool but fun and whimsical.”

Damn it my hopes are now up for this
