I was unable to play the test but I heard a lot of good impressions then. I think everyone shares the same complaint that it just looks so damn boring visually

  2. AgentSkidMarks

I bet they were really proud of that headline

This game needed better art direction IMO. It would’ve got more attention if it had more interesting character designs instead of whatever those are.

    “Oh Drag x Drive…”

    “You’re no ARMS…”

This is such an obvious attempt by Nintendo to sell a tech demo. Don’t get me wrong, it can be fun. But it should not be a standalone game. At least it’s cheaper.

I don’t have S2, but the review on my favorite pod basically came down to “might have been fun, but the complete lack of ergonomics in mouse mode made it literally painful to play.”

  7. imbasically_useless

Game looks VERY bland, I doubt anyone will play this for more than a week.

$20 USD is basically amounts to a trip to McDonalds. I might pick up. Reading responses to playing the demo and seeing footage of people playing has me interested.

This and Welcome Tour really make me question the decision making at Nintendo. A lot of man hours spent on soulless husks of games.

Shocked and in disbelief. Who could have see this coming??

I keep wondering if I played the same game as other people. My friend and I hung out and played the demo over the weekend and had a great time. Maybe we just have small hands? Idk. It’s a fun game and cheap. You can have cat ears and who knows what else, there were plenty of empty customization slots. I want to do the jump rope thing in the locked distance. It costs like two trips to McDonald’s. 🤷‍♀️ To each their own tho. I’m not going to be buying Pokemon, so there’s a lot of game spending I’m not worried about.

    >You basically must play with pants on

    Erm, what?

  13. PhantomZoneJanitor

I couldn’t even be bothered to download the demo last weekend… mouse controls are more pro precision and not for frantically pushing mine up and down.

This should have been a free thing included in the Tour which should have also been free.

The free Astro Bot on the Ps5 did a better job of showcasing everything on that console… they out Nintendo’s Nintendo in that case.

Then we see a post from someone in a real wheelchair stating they can’t even play it because of their disability… Nintendo failed to read the room with this one.

    I miss Reggie.

I played this at the Switch 2 experience. Playing it in a group of six all in person was a lot of fun, even without knowing anyone else there. I could see this being a lot of fun to play while on a discord call with friends, I just don’t think I’d care that much to play online against strangers with no voice chat.

“You must play with pants on”…. Could this be a first ever game with “pants on” requirement?

  16. Stayofexecution

I played the limited time demo and uninstalled it after 20 minutes. This game is boring and lacks charm. What was Nintendo thinking? They couldn’t have placed Mario and company in wheelchairs?

  17. watergun123456

my impression of the game is that its meant to be more of a casual game where you mess around with your friends, not some competitive game filled with all of these intricate mechanics.

  18. SupervaleSunnyvisor

Everyone’s ragging on the bland art direction, but the controls are the reason its a non-starter for me. I get that they’re sort of necessary to justify the game, but I’m never going to use the mouse controls, so not having an option means this isn’t even worth trying to me.

  19. “Cons: You basically must play with pants on”

    Unacceptable!

  20. kingpootis101

it was fun during the global jam but i cannot see myself playing for more than 5 hours

  21. ExpeditionItchyKnee

This game should have been a mini game in Mario party.
Nobone with control of their legs is going to get excited over wheelchair basketball.
The dual mouse gimmick is as bad as motion controls.
New control schemes are supposed to be wats to give more control and feedback to players. Putting them in a cumbersome vehicle is obviously not going to be fun.

Nintendo if you can see this, just port some RTS.

  22. The_Legend_of_Xeno

Finally a game for everyone who thought Rocket League would be more fun if you were in a wheelchair.

  23. ItakoMango

If the ARMS love exhibited in this thread really reflected in the game’s sales, maybe it would’ve still be alive.

I remember when people were referring to it as a gimmick game.

  24. QuinSanguine

I think just like the Jamboree dlc, it exists mainly for proof of concept. The mouse controls are interesting and make the game fun. I think Nintendo probably hopes it inspires developers to expand on it, or maybe they will if the game gets a following.

  25. One of the few games that requires you to wear pants when playing haha

  26. AnavelGato2020

Much like Arms before it I have zero interest in this.

  27. AutomaticDinner6353

Is using the mouse controls the only way to play this game?

  28. HighFlyingLuchador

They remember the reception and sales for arms and decided they definitely weren’t going to make legs next

  29. Every video I’ve seen looks slow and unfun. Why play this when 2K is already on switch? I also don’t want to be forced to play at my desk with their stupid mouse controls, every game I’ve played that had implemented them so far it has been awful and uncomfortable to play like that
