    – “Here’s a Legacy Edition for $199, comes with a physical golden gun, certificate of authenticity, steel case, and DLC”.

    – “Does the Switch 2 version come with the actual game on the cart?”

    – “…..”

Unfortunately until those different storage sized cards become more available GKC is gonna be the rule and not the exception. Sega is the only one who has “walked back” their choice with Sonic Crossworlds but I think most other companies are gonna be a lot more hesitant to cave to backlash.

Vote w your wallet, don’t buy until you see a KC on a deep sale or j go all the way digital.

  3. Daxterr1238

If this is going to be the norm 2tb express cards need to be available

  4. The_Cost_Of_Lies

If you realised how expensive cards are at those sizes, you’d know why publishers won’t generally put the full game on them. It’s that simple.

  5. This game is gunna most likely gunna be ass on Switch 2 anyways. But GKC would seal the no sale deal.

  6. GarionOrb

Game key cards aren’t going away. Lots of third party games will keep using them.

  7. LePigeon12

Does it actually matter though? Yes, it is going to occupy a lot of storage, but we still get to enjoy this ambitious and long awaited game in the go. Seriously, enjoy the games ,we have instead of whining about the fact that we have to install them. You can always uninstall a game to install another without losing progress, no biggie

  8. TheGreatTao

I honestly couldn’t give a shit about key cards.

  9. blockfighter1

Key cards don’t bother me. If it reviews well at the time I’ll be buying physical.

  10. Jonesdeclectice

To be honest, if a publisher can’t be arsed to get behind a proper physical release, then I can’t be arsed to buy it. I’m going to just assume they don’t believe in their product enough.

  11. pommybear

Circle-jerking against key cards is so dumb. It’s a digital game you can resell and other platforms have been doing it for years. Refusing to buy them just means fewer games will be put into switch by third party developers because sales don’t meet expectations and then you’ll whine about that as well. A majority of people are largely bored with this endless whinging on every post.

  12. ToxicAgression

Inserting the key card feels like stepping into the role of a secret agent. The moment it clicks into place, it’s as if you’ve just unlocked access to a top-secret mission file. That tiny action carries the weight of secrecy and importance, transforming a simple cartridge into a classified key, gaining clearance to a hidden world where only you have the authority to enter.

  13. West-Classroom-7996

at this point they might as well remove the game cartridge slot from the switch 2

  14. SoSeriousAndDeep

I suspect this is either going to be huge or have a lot of expansions planned (Like the World of Assassination trilogy did in it’s original release), so a GKC makes sense.

  15. PaleFondant2488

I’m not a fan of GKC but the whole “It’s on a game key card discourse is getting kind of tiring” like it’s good to know but it just feels like it’s used to fish for engagement at this point.

  16. RedditUser41970

This thread is the Modern Warfare meme, as every GKC thread is.

50 people saying they won’t buy the game. Half wouldn’t have bought it regardless (and wont on any platform), and the other half will buy it any way.

But at least you all got your internet points.

  17. IsThisKismet

If we’re going to get a post every time a game comes on a Key Card, someone needs to go ahead and start /r/NintendoKeyCard because it’s going to get old very quickly.

  18. TimeEggLayer

Then I’ll pass. This trend sucks, and I won’t support it with my measly few dollars.

  19. TheDragonDAFan

Looks like I’m saving some money next year.

  20. ofmichanst

just watched the first look trailer just now, looks comparable to hitman, i guess because they are the same devs. i think im getting this digitally like i did for hitman. sucks we dont have a physical version but i prefer digital over GKC.

  21. corsini90

There’s no legacy edition for the switch 2 just for Xbox PlayStation and PC

  22. Michael60814

Sorry, I will turn left then get the steam version. Switch 2 game-key card is a skip.

  23. Game Key Cards suck. Download only games that are 50+ GB a pop suck.

  24. KiteAsHigh

I know key cards are very unpopular here (I don’t particularly love them either) but I’d rather be able to sell a key card game down the line and make some money back than be stuck with a digital copy of a game I might not enjoy

  25. BondFan211

GKC should cost less than physical games.

    Actually, so should digital.

    Gaming is so cooked.

  26. Kevicelives

Definitely not worth buying a piece of useless plastic. Also, this game is going to be on sale in less than a year, so it’s not worth buying at all at launch.

  27. Upstairs-Win-4679

    Then don’t buy.

Key card is not a card.

  28. Sustainna

They’ll make $300 versions of the game but cant be assed to pay for proper carts.

  29. koteshima2nd

Sadly looks like it’ll be the norm.

    Man.

  30. chikoiwangko

Another day, another game released as a key card.

When will this dystopia of a gaming trend end?

  31. Suspicious-Group2363

I guess I am in the indifference camp. I understand the complaints about Switch 2 internal space, and it requiring a download, but being a PlayStation gamer for many years, I don’t see why it’s that much of an issue. When prices for SD cards eventually come down, perhaps people might calm down a bit? Or maybe I’m just missing something.

  32. PenguinSage

My entire way of buying third-party games has changed due to these key cards. I’ve literally only bought one physical Switch 2 game because of this and got everything third-party on eitherPC or PS5 even though I’d love to play it on something portable. Come on Nintendo, help me give you money.

  33. PMC-I3181OS387l5

    Here are a few questions:

    1. How big is the game?
    2. Does it have an actual physical disc release on PS5 and XSX?
