I’m easy; I’m not too picky about any particular games or genres. I mostly just want more than “hey, a game you’ve known about for ages (or even a game that’s been out for ages) is coming to Switch 2 as well!” It’s not about not having a Switch 2 yet, I just don’t feel like those should qualify as big announcements on principle. If you’re going to put something in a Direct, have it be something that hasn’t been announced already, or at least announce a release date for the first time.
Other than that, my biggest thing is that I’ve always got my fingers crossed for a shadowdrop. Nintendo loves to do them, and I kinda love them for it. In an age of announcing games years in advance for buzz and hype, there’s nothing quite like “hey, here’s this cool game on the horizon to get excited about! Oh, release date? Right about… NOW” to get me in a good headspace, even if it’s just a remaster of an ages-old game. Suddenly I know what I’m going to be playing that weekend.
Edit: Okay, I lied, there is one thing. Please please please can we have another Mario Superstar Baseball?
