That was the same issue I had with Galaxy in the 3D Allstars Collection. It doesn’t negatively impact the game enough to bring it down in my eyes. It may make 2 more challenging, because it had more pointer mechanics, but I’m excited to give it another go!

Unfortunately they charged marginally more than what people wanted so its the devil. Shoulda charged $40 and piecemealed extra parts in bonus editions and dlc like other more respectable companies like Sega

I mean yeah, we know. The question is do we pay almost full price again to play this version. I bought galaxy in 3D all stars not too long ago and both games when they came out. If this version isn’t superior in any way what’s the point when superiour emulation exists. If you’ve never played them this is a decent way to experience them I guess. But the question isn’t if the games are any good, we know they are.

Not a day one but I will definitely pick this up.

The Switch 2 Joy Con shouldn’t have the same issues the Switch 1’s gyro has with the constant calibration and drifting. It’s much more consistent in that regard. I’ve been playing Skyward Sword, World of Goo and Okami with it, and I’ve been requiring much less calibration than it did on Switch 1.
However…
>Handheld mode is worse, as players are required to tilt the entire system, which feels impractical for some of Galaxy 2’s tougher levels. Annoyingly, Switch 2’s mouse controls are restricted to just the 2-player co-op function (which allows a second person to shoot Star Bits).
You can use the Touch Screen for the Yoshi sections in handheld mode, but the mouse controls being limited to player 2 is the classic nonsense Nintendo restriction.

Im hyped to replay my physical copy next thursday.

Two of my favorite games of all time and I’m happy that the ports are apparently well done, but I still think the price is steep for such a small upgrade

“Super Mario Galaxy and Galaxy 2 are the easiest recommendations of my career”
Of course, as you can see from some of the comments Nintendo haters aren’t coping well.
Vibranium2222
I wanted improved controls for smg1. Guess that’s not the case 😩

Waiting for a sale on the physical card. Before your sass about how that will NEVER HAPPEN, I got 3d all stars for $40.

I wish we could get a rerelease of the galaxies without motion controls. Maybe they’ll do it for the third rerelease

How’s *Galaxy* 1 on *3D All-Stars* play on the Switch 2?
Just-Pudding4554
So it DOES have gyro in handheld mode after all.
I know the text read it as a bad solution but honestly i take that over the poor touch mode.
check_this_mustache
So can you even play these games with the pro controllers?

As someone who liked SM64DS but has never played either of these games: is this a good entry point?

I’ll probably get downvoted for this but here we go. During the WII era I had little money to spent and pirated Galaxy 1. Later had to sell the Wii and never played Galaxy 2.
This time I’ll be more than happy to hand Nintendo my money.

The pointer controls was probably the reason why Galaxy 2 wasn’t included before
And even now the way they tried to implement it is cumbersome
mlvisby
Honestly, the gyro for the pointer never bothered me on Switch. Was able to get a good amount of star bits throughout my playthrough on 3D all stars.

While I’m looking forward to playing it. Having never played the second game. My local library is getting it in after I requested it.
Majestic-Tangerine99
Dang, the mouse controls only working for Player 2 is really annoying. I was looking forward to using mouse controls in single player ngl
Weary_Series_8895
I wasn’t too much into Nintendo during the Wii & Wii U eras, so I never played any of these games. I’ll definitely be getting this, not a bad deal at all given the amount of content I’ll get.
I don’t think I would buy if I had played them before though.
So what’s the consensus so far on the switch 2 graphic & image quality update?
ThatScribbleFace
Game is playable in handled?? Thank you
grrant
Some of my most favorite gaming memories with my wife, when she was my girlfriend 10+ years ago. Great games!!
Aspire_2_Be
This here isn’t a limited release right? Like 3D all stars was?
ruralgaming
I don’t care how good it is. The bundle should only be $40 in total. $40 for each individual title is outrageous. I’d pay $20 for each title
AutomaticDinner6353
For the pointer mechanic is that required for the game or can you turn that off completely?
Dazzling-Cabinet6264
Can anybody give me the Cliff notes on if you already have super Mario 3-D All-Stars do you need to purchase galaxy one again or just keep the first one in that collection?
mild-hot-fire
I don’t get it, do these not go through play testing? It’s like they focus only on software graphics and not the translation of user interface from Wii to switch
lks_lla
I miss the sensor bar so much…
RealRockaRolla
Are the controls for both games exactly the same as in 3D All-Stars?
JKSuperpower
I’ve never played either of these games & I have a Switch 1 – trusting it’ll still be a great time!
Hylian_Soup
Does anyone know if the cartridge just spits out both games onto the home menu? Or is there one icon for the bundle with a menu to choose between the two games like All-Stars? I figure it’s the former since each are available on the eshop but I’d love to be wrong
MisterDudeFella
Is this any different than the one that came in the Switch 1 Mario collection?
