This video proves that they did fully update the textures.
So the SMG that’s in this is graphically updated vs the one on 3d All Stars?
Having bought the collection last night, one of the underrated things that I like is the fact that autosave happens in the background without jumping up on the screen and locking you into a big window. Helps you get back into the game faster.
They did this with 3D World too and it was one of the best upgrades from that game.
The fact that all Nintendo had to do was simply update the textures for these games to look good, is a testament to how masterfully crafted they were back on Wii. Back then, this game legitimately looked comparable to PS3 games to me and it made me fully believe that the Wii was far more powerful than it actually was. It’s a true showcase of a genius, meticulously created art design that is nothing short of timeless. These games look absolutely gorgeous in 4K.
These motherfuckers at Nintendo are going to get me to buy these games again.
“They downgraded the textures” folks can sit back down, now.
How are the handheld controls? Haven’t seen mention of them anywhere
what’s the difference between this copy of galaxy (1) and the one in all-stars?
I’m definitely snagging 2, but will skip 1. Even with the upgrades, spending $30 for 1 when I have All-Stars is a tough pill to swallow.
Galaxy 2 looks so good in 4K!
This video is full of mistakes… for example, he said the HUD is the same as 3D All-Stars when evidently it’s not, and that the opening cutscene is the same when it’s been confirmed as having changed since the trailer was released.
Are you supposed to play with joy cons separated or can you just use the pro controller and not use the cursor?
Ah fuck, I’m gonna end up buying this smh 🤦🏽♂️
Finally, the state of the art technology of anti-aliasing is finally achievable.
Damn you Nintendo. RIP wallet with Silent Hill f, Ghost of Yotei, and now Super Mario Galaxy 1+2
The one thing I’ll add is that the pointer controls seem to work pretty well. I haven’t put that much time in to fully confirm but from the quick hour that I played, I had no issue.
I’m not sure how they will hold up over boss battles or controlling Yoshi but I was pleasantly surprised how they were working. This was my #1 fear about rebuying these games.
I skipped both of these when I was a teenager so im stoked to get to try out the supposedly best 3d mario games. I’ve heard nothing but good things
It would’ve been cool if they remade the pre-rendered cinematics. The one right at the begging looks so bad compared to the rest of the game.
The [vibe](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fexternal-preview.redd.it%2FaxTj5wxna-e3p1Ko38Mb4nRibXGCMX6SBStqvCRHtEQ.png%3Fauto%3Dwebp%26s%3D8f53f3dbc802cf1b7db2845c91c984afb78b47dd) I’m getting from the new textures…
Seems like the video was taken down and reuploaded. Here’s the new link:

Heads up, OP. DF already remastered this video and re-uploaded a new version.
It’s a private video.
Wish they had mouse functions for single player
I’ll probably get these at some point but hopefully later on if/when there’s a sale. Too busy with Final Fantasy Tactics and Silksong at the moment.
Last week you where all bitching that this was a “lazy greedy port”..…….
Playing through Bananza still and my son is working through one of the Kirby games. Once we finish those this is next on my list!
If these games were priced accordingly it would have been an instant purchase.
No shot I’m paying 60 bucks per title for how old these games are.
What about all those issues everybody was talking about, with the downgraded/missing textures?
They privated the video for some reason. No longer accessible.
Edit: not sure why the downvoting. Is this comment taken in a negative way?
I just want to see a full breakdown comparison between all the different ways to play…
Wii 480p
Wii U 480p
Wii U 1080p upscaled
Switch 1 720p & 1080p (3D Allstars)
Switch 1 720p & 1080p (2025)
Switch 2 4K upscale (3D Allstars)
Switch 2 4K native (2025)
And any other combination that is possible between device and resolution (native & upscaled)
Even if some dont present any differences, I want to see that.
This is Nintendo’s Skyrim…
Anyone know if any of the “downgraded” textures from the trailer like that grey texture less block in galaxy 2 got fixed? Just curious
Can someone explain to me like I’m an idiot how the motion control stuff works on Handheld mode? Like the waggle controls, etc
If I buy the switch 1 version, does it upgrade for free on switch 2 when I buy a switch 2?
Or will I have to buy the game again to get 4k
I am just going to pick up Galaxy 2, the version of Galaxy 1 in the collection is good enough for me not to double dip.
Digital K Foundry
Which of the two is better if I only got one?

They kept UR MR GAY? I’m sold.
How’s the performance on the Switch 1?
