As a note: ive heard they had previously sent him a cease and desist notice, he continued doing it anyways.

I expect the angry Nintendo haters that lurk here to come screeching in to this post with torches and pitchforks but can you at least read the damn article before starting with your garbage? Dude is accused of redistributing thousands of copies of pirated Switch games. Nintendo apparently gave him a chance to cut the shit and walk away and he ignored them. They are well within their right here.

Dude fucked around and now he’s finding out
They supposedly even gave him an out in the form of a C&D and he ignored it. Guy is a moron who deserves what he’s about to get.
BridgemanBridgeman
Dang, 4.5 million. That dude is prolly gonna be paying that off the rest of his life. Nintendo doesn’t fuck around.
Chibicupcake2019
oh boy more fuel for the haters 😮💨
I get not liking some of the stuff nintendo is doing but this is the guys own fault for ignoring the C & D

My first thought is: is this info real?
Scarlet_Lycoris
… ngl you must be pretty dense to enable piracy of *nintendo property* with a Reddit account linked to a mail address linked to your real identity.
orangesfwr
Yeah no sympathy on this one. Nintendo is right to enforce their IP.
R_G_Marigold
My god, the bias is palpable on this headline. First of all, they were previously asked to stop, to which they ignored the request. Secondly, the lawsuit is for operating multiple piracy sites and distributing pirated copies of games for a *modern* console, not just “alleged piracy”.
This is another case where the person 100% had this coming.

The phrase play stupid games win stupid prizes comes to mind

So was this guy selling pirated content? That’s my understanding here. If so then yeah that’s insane. It’s basically a one way ticket to getting sued.
Stopper33
Very deceptive title.
AleroRatking
No surprise he is a reddit mod. We have mods who ban people solely by speaking against piracy.
Subject_Reception681
Reddit mods are so lame that I actually feel less sympathy for them than a major corporation.
boardgamejoe
I heard he made the cardinal sin of charging money for access to ROMS
rebelvong1
This is what happens when you go around saying its morally ok to pirate Nintendo games.
IC_Ivory280
It’s always nice when a reddit mod suffers legit consequences.
Dense_Row2811
Well deserved. Some Reddit Mods are insufferable.
Ragebait_Destroyer
he goes in to court, “your honor, I am a REDDIT MOD, trial overturned please.”

If you see the guy posts on discord and other platforms, you can see that he is not mentally sound for sure

It’s one thing to quietly pirate a game and have it on your hard drive to play. It’s another thing to go “HEY, COMPANY! I PIRATED YOUR GAME! YOU CAN’T STOP ME! SUCK IT! YOU CAN’T SHUT ME DOWN BECAUSE I’LL POP UP EVERYWHERE AND STREAM THOSE PIRATED GAMES TOO!” over and over in multiple public online spaces for years. One of these has a lower chance of getting you sued than the other.
spn_phoenix_92
If you’re gonna be a pirate, do it privately. Otherwise you’re just asking to get in trouble.
It’s like you’re shoplifting while calling the police station and going “what are you going to do about it?
Ragebait_Destroyer
People like this are why Nintendo cease and desist random small project on YouTube.
They start out innocent, then they gateway drug and start trying to make a few million selling their rom slop.
UnfairWelcome794
Nintendo W here. I am against corporations but I am against reddit mods even more
Zenisist
This guy deserves what he gets. He was profiting off the roms and ignored a cease and desist that was basically a get out of jail free card from Nintendo.
Greenbullet
