Is it recommended to play the others before this? I was hoping to get a new title for the switch 2 as it’s new games are lacking.

I played for about 4 hours tonight and am loving it so far.

Dear god I never thought this day would ever come

  4. Just picked mine up and I **really** like the dual-nature cartridge, that’s a super-clever idea since virtually all my friends are still on Switch 1.

I launched it, and genuinely got teary-eyed. The soundtrack on the title screen + the visuals + how long it has been was just a bit overwhelming. :<

This feels fake. Like, when I go to pick up my preorder at Best Buy, I feel like it’s more likely to end with me getting a pie in the face.

I am probably getting a Switch 2 for christmas, but im so tempted to just get the S1 version to play it right now

It’s here…but now I have to wait until Christmas morning as I put it on my list to have something cool to open. It’s the adult thing to do. 😛

  8. Picking up mine at the store after work, looking forward to playing it!

  9. Only nintendo could get away with locking ingame music behind a 30$ amiibo paywall. Game seems alright otherwise but it truly is depressing seeing this much of an anti-consumer sentiment being normalized in the gaming space.

Maybe Nintendo could actually make a Metroid game next time, instead of whatever this thing is.

I’m loving it as my first Prine game. Miles is not nearly as bad as the first reviews made me believe.

As much as I want this, I finally picked up Elden Ring on the PS5 and that has consumed all my time. Plus I plan to get my Switch 2 early next year so I can pick it up then.

  13. Now that this game is finally out, we can start to hear more about the Fire Emblem game for the Switch 2

Some minutes ago I was trying Prime 4 on Switch 2 and I’m liking it

I really like to lock-on an enemy while I’m moving the right stick to shoot to his weak point

I only played for like a half hour last night but surprisingly the thing that got me the most nostalgic was the sound of the scan visor, my beloved

I really wanted to play 2 and 3 before 4. Not sure why nintendo didn’t even release them in the virtual console or something. 🙁

I’m just not gonna play this until I have play through the other 2. 🙁

It’s probably really good that I just started Metroid Prime 2 this month lol.  I wouldn’t have even have had to wait a DAY for Metroid Prime 4 after I beat Metroid Prime 3.

So as long as it’s at least a fun game most of the time like the previous say and doesn’t have that many of those “Pikmin 4isms”(Small, impossible to disable changes that really mess up the entire experience) I can forgive a few flaws like annoying characters or the open world.

Maybe it’s because it took so long and I grew up, but I just played it for a couple of hours and I was kinda bored. Not sure if I’ll continue or finish it.

Have played up to the first intro boss. It’s, ok, I guess? Hoping it gets better but it’s way early.

Just a reminder for the time period between Prime 3 and 4: the Wii was about a year old only and the DS was only a few years old. At least in a lot of the US the Wii was still pretty hard to find.

    I was I think 9-10 years old and now I’m 27.

Waiting on my Costco order with great and surprising patience

  22. Would love to hear people’s opinions on the mouse controls for Switch 2. I am planning on waiting to get it until I can get the Switch 2 cause man I love the mouse controls for Primehack.

  23. It feels and plays precisely like the original trilogy. While there’s a lot to be said about a lack of innovation in that regard, and deservedly so, I personally don’t mind it precisely because there’s only three other games in the First-Person sub-genre of MetroidVania and they’re *all* Metroid Prime games.

So is it true that the Switch 2 card will actually play in the Switch 1, just the Switch 1 version? Because I expect to get a Switch 2 eventually, and I’d like to play the Switch 2 version when I do.

But I’m not waiting to play this, and Im not going to buy the game twice once I get a Switch 2.

I just want to say that I am very pleased with this game. No crashes, no bugs yet, no frame rate issues. Thank you for throughly testing the game before releasing it. I for one am having a blast playing it.

  26. bizoticallyyours83

How cool. I hope you guys have a lot of fun.

  27. I’ve been so busy I have not been gaming or keeping track of release dates. Just happened to walk into Costco today and saw this. It’s been on my wish list since it was announced. I think it was 62.99. Seems like a decent price. Very excited to play with free time coming up soon!

Man with all of the delays and stuff I had set my expectations really low that this game might suck. I’m a couple hours into it and holy crap. I am freaking loving it.
