So, i have an idea for a pokemon game, that although it will never happen i consider to be actually awesome.
The premise of the game is relatively simple in nature. It's a kind of merging between shadow of the collosus and the divine beasts from BOTW. Basically, you will have to fight every legendary in order to beat the game. But since not all legendaries are huge, the fights will vary largely in how they are fought. The point of the battles will not be to capture/knock out the legendaries as they are forces of nature, but to gain their respect, why I will explain later. But without further ado, lets get into the story.
The game will start with some form of tragedy. The MC’s child/sibling/dear pokemon might die, or maybe their life would get ruined in some way. That matters not much however, but its important that its extremely horrible. Because this event will lead the MC to seek the help of jirachi, as it can grant all wishes. And that will be the start of the game. The starting town is right next to the mountain in which the dungeon leading to (her?) is, which means the game will be quite small in sixe to begin with. It will simply be a rouge-like focused on getting to the hundredth floor and finding jirachi. And after countless hours you will eventually succeed and find her. But you will then be informed that jirachi is limited similar to the avarage genie, and cant bring back dead. Instead, jirachi will simply bring back a ghost temporarily, and this ghost will inform you that the only one that can enact such a wish is arceus. And in order to be able to meet arceus you must earn the respect of all legendaries. I bet you can see how the game evolves from there.
The game will be open world, however you will not know that un you find jirachi and is let out upon the world. It is still of course a pokemon game, so you will still adhere to the rules of such. But instead of telling the pokemon what to do you will play as the active pokemon, as legendary battles would otherwise be too hard. As a little teaser i will give you the explanation of the necrosma (black form) battle.
